Hello,

My names Jordan. I own a mechanic shop up in Sudbury Ontario Canada.

I recently just purchased this boat. Link below. I pick it up this weekend. It’s always been stored and serviced since new (I believe) at Walkers Point Marina in Ontario.

Just looking for any insight or quick directions or input anyone has about this boat.

The add says it has a Mercruiser 7.4L….. What are the odds this thing has a MAG? With no pics either I’m really hoping this thing has MAG.. If not a camshaft is definitely in the future with supporting mods. I’ve spent 2 hours searching google and youtube and can’t find a thing on if this 23LS had an option for a mag. I see 5.7’s and 7.4L Volvo.

Last question. I want to do a thru hull exhaust. Is there a write up someone could just direct me too quick or is this possible? Thanks.

Hi all so I have confirmed the engine is an 7.4LX MPI

330hp correct? I’ve done about an hours worth of research and either I’m looking at the wrong stuff. But I can’t find what makes an LX different from regular MPI

Hey JMA….so glad you found us.

That’s a Volvo Penta block in that boat, not a Mercrusier that’s being advertised. Most likely a 330 horse.
Mag is a Mercrusier term.

Hey guys, I’m not sure where you guys are pulling your information but it’s wrong. I have confirmed it with the Marina, and I called Cobalt boats. And also took the serial number for the engine and it comes up as a Mercruiser as well. So let’s stop saying it’s a Volvo. Because it’s not lol. . The engine IS a Mercruiser…. It is a Gen V 7.4LX MPI with Bravo 1 outdrive.

I believe folks are clicking on your link which shows the boat for sale.

Then there is a video of the boat that can be played which shows the Volvo Penta.

Did you purchase a different boat than the one in your link Jordan?

Oh shoot. I AM SO SORRY. Yes. My lord sorry Guys !!! Yes the video and the actual boat are not the same. My sincerest apologies. I was so confused. But now I understand. Yes in the description of the boat he says the pics of it on the trailer and video are not his but looks identical.

The pics of interior and on the water is the actual boat. The ones on the trailer and in the video are similar.
