Hi all.
Boat in question is a 1994 Cobalt 272. I'm attempting to replace a old rectangle Lowrence 3200 depth sounder with glued in transducer.
I purchased a Hawkeye depthtrax 2bx that comes with a transom mount transducer which I'm not sure I'd want to use. I've read where people have glued a transom mount style in the hull and it supposedly worked. Anyone that has done this I'd be interested in hearing the outcome.
My main question is if anyone has installed a through hull transducer in these older boat hulls? Is there any reason I should not? I called Cobalt and wasn't necessarily told not to but to "be careful" and that newer Cobalt boats have a block incorporated into the hull to strengthen it where the transducer hole is drilled.
Thanks in advance.
Through hull transducer in a '94 hull?????
