What a day....

A little late afternoon drama..
I just got home early this afternoon and decided to lay my bones down on the couch, my dog Gracie jumped up, gave me a smooch, and then used my head as a stepping stool to the top of the couch. Problem is that her rear paw caught my eye lid when she jumped..

So, I ended up in the emergency room with a lacerated eye lid, cut open and bleeding. Now, we had to wait for an eye surgeon to answer the call, or we would have to drive in to Buffalo for another eye specialist to sew it up. As luck would have it, our local eye surgeon got the call and came in..
So after 9 stitches in a spot that wouldn’t numb from the lidocaine😭, I’m back home.. not the evening I was looking forward to...
I’m very lucky she didn’t take out my eyeball.

So after my little ordeal, and watching three ambulances bring in people with actual problems, I got a wake up call and fresh respect for our hard working doctors and nurses who take care of us.

Oh I'm still cringing. Ouch. Hope it gets better fast. Can't say I've ever heard of something like that. Glad it's not your eye.

Wow. Sorry to hear about your eye lid. What an ordeal.

Will be praying for a quick recovery my friend.

Btw, do you have a temporary eye patch?

No patch.
The Dr. did such a good job, that you can hardly see the stitches along my eyelash. Just some triple antibiotic on it and orders to not touch it. Stitches come out on Thursday.
I'm going to have one heck of a shiner in the morning..🙈🤣

I'm SO happy it's over...

Roger that.

Doctor’s advice....stay off your feet...don’t stare at the sun (shouldn’t be hard this time of year)...and kill the time dreaming about summertime on you Cobalt. 👍🏻 :D

Dang T, sorry to hear that. I'm thinking a leather eye patch and a parrot on your shoulder is in order!

Haha YT, AArrrrr...😂

Feels pretty good this morning.. I look like Mike Tyson hit me in the face🤣.
One of our friends was running triage at the ER, later came in and handed me a card with the domestic violence hotline number on it.
Gave Wendy and I a pretty good laugh while waiting for the DR. 🤣

Man, did I dodge a bullet.. another quarter inch and Gracie could have taken out my eyeball..

Ugh I cringed as well reading your story. Hope you are off to a speedy recovery. I have a very active border collie that jumps all over me all the time. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I have a story like this.

God, it happened so fast..
Trust me, I came off the couch with a scream..
Both my wife and son were getting sick looking at it.

We have two Yorkies. One is crazy between the ears, but careful. The other is sweet as pie, but “Gracie” will jump up on our bed and simply walk right over our heads like they are lumps in her way😂. I mean literally step on our heads when we are sleeping..

I guess we’re lucky that it hasn’t happened until yesterday.
For future reference, no sutures are easy, but if it’s on your eyelid, you may want to take a shot or two before going to the ER.
Lidocaine will not numb the whole lid. NOT fun...

I guess I don't know if I would have thought their are that many nerve endings on your eyelids?

Holy (eye) balls T! Glad it was "just" the lid and not the ball! Hope you're doing ok, sounds like ouchtown with the lidocaine not working :?

Yikes T! Clearly you have to put her down, teach the other one a lesson.

I'm kidding obviously, although I am a little disappointed about the eye patch. A7 can you turn out a Pirate Tusc gif avatar when you get a sec? TIA.
