Re: Do you put your boat name on your boat?

Great idea AsLan, will have to consider that. I do consider myself handy with heat guns and removal (more like destruction lol) of things, but in this case I would probably find someone to professionally do it so as not to damage my boat this early. Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: New member from Lake Oconee GA - 2018 220S VP240 SX

Thanks Ytmsn. Home lake is Oconee GA. Wife and I are not really into water sports but I do want to get back to water skiing (been 35 years since my last time and she's never done it). We mostly use our boat to cruise and hang out with friends on the water.

Re: Do you put your boat name on your boat?

Thank you all for your reply. As always, everybody on this forum is helpful.

@ytmsn - The boat is in storage now. I will upload pictures when I put it back in the water next season and do an introductory thread.

As I read my post, I quickly realized my question maybe a bit misleading. I did see ...

Do you put your boat name on your boat?

Hi All - Just got my 2018 220S a month ago and was wondering if y'al put your boat name on the boat and where do you place it. Looking at the transom of 2018 220 I can't see enough space to place a boat name! Any ideas and/or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Hi all - Wanted to thank you all again for your guidance and advice. We are now proud owners of our very first Cobalt 220S!!

We have had a chance to take it out a few times and love it. There are a few things left to do within the next few weeks:
- Install flag
- Install Seagrass flooring
- Bow ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Very exciting and congratulations! I visited Lake Oconee this year so I know the bridges you mean. I loce that Lake!! ( They only allow 28 ft max length for boats which is kinda cool for not dealing with cruiser wakes)

Get some pics at the Ritz!!!

We like the lake too, much better than Lanier ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Congratulations and welcome to the persnickety CobaltOwnersClub! Sounds like you are going to have an awesome boat!

Two things come to mind.

Too late for the first one, but maybe it'll help someone else. Anytime I'm buying anything and my wife is with me, we go in as a team, and play good and ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Very cool. I think the shale guys have plenty after this year to definitely to start their color club.
How did you like the electric tower option? Cant wait to see it on the water with your family. Where will you be using it?

Thanks BBP. I opted not to spend the money on an Elec tower. We drove ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Lol - it’s not red!! Shale is the color of choice

Yes adding options to an in stock boat.

On the Dual Prop I spent 30 minutes driving at various speeds including no wake speed and the boat handled very well with very little sway if any. I also went from slow speeds to high and she responded very ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Thanks for the advice on cockpit/bow covers. I will keep that in mind. This boat will be stored at a marina in dry storage, am not sure which cover will work better in that case.

The color we went with is Shale for Hull Side, Black Hull bottom, white Boot Stripe. Some folks on here advised me ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Hi All - Thought I would give y'all an update on my Saturday test drive. All I can say is WOW, I am head over heals in love with this boat! I went in knowing that Cobolt is good but man what an awesome boat to drive. I test drove the '18 220S with VP 240 Single Prop and that was (I hate to admit ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Thank you all for the great advice and the spirited discussion. I can’t comment on the engine without having tried the stock engine the dealer quoted me first which I will be doing on Saturday. However if I had to buy without trying (which I will not do) I would go bigger is better and order a 300 ...

Re: Advice Needed - Purchasing my very first Cobalt

Thank you DCLFan for the great advice. Your experience is almost exactly what happened to me with the 220S. I went into the dealer looking for a Yamaha jet boat actually, which I was determined to buy. The salesman asked me to just climb into the 220S and look around (his words). The quality of the ...
