Re: Strange issue with dash lights
This one was fixed fast. I took the dimmer switch out of the dash and bypassed it with jumper. The dash lights came on as the should. I blew some dust out of the dimmer switch and tested it with another 12v source. The switch worked. I connected the switch to the dash and put it back in the dash ...

Strange issue with dash lights
When I turn on the running lights, the dash lights come on - for about 1 second - then off. I tried changing the dimmer setting, and turning the ignition off and on. Neither had any effect. I’ll be diagnosing this further, but wondered if any members had experience with this situation. Thanks.

Re: Mystery Switch Under Dash
The emergency cutoff lanyard attaches to the throttle/shift unit separate from the dash. I was at a Cobalt dealership this morning. One of their mechanics told me the button is to toggle through the different functions displayed on the multi-function display. I’ll check it out, but I believe he’s ...

Re: 230 with Heavy Motor Cover
New struts arrived Thursday, and I installed them today. There was some improvement, and I can live with it.

Mystery Switch Under Dash
OK. Today I checked out all of the switches to make sure all they controlled really worked. There were a few on top of the dash for accessories not installed on my 230. On the bottom of the right side of the dash there was a rocker switch that controlled the brightness of the dash lights. Right next ...

Add Docking Lights
I would like to add docking lights to my 230. I’m sure someone else has made the same decision. So what brand, model, etc did you find that looks the most like Cobalt original. Halogen or LED? What’s your preference.

Re: New Member on Beaver Lake Arkansas
Ok. I see you guys really like pictures. The Cobalt is in a storage unit which makes it impossible to get anything but a bow shot. I’m going to get it out of storage in a few weeks, and first thing I do will be pictures. Stand by.

230 with Heavy Motor Cover
I’m just getting started with our newly acquired 2011 230. It seems to me the engine cover is very heavy. The gas struts hold it open, but are no help when it’s past half way down. Before I replace the struts, I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the heavy weight issue. If you replaced the ...

New Member on Beaver Lake Arkansas
We bought our first Cobalt in ‘96, a 23LS Deck Boat with DuoProp. It was great boat for our family. After 10 years, the kids wanted a tower and more power, so I traded for a MC. Again, a great boat for many years.
I just sold the MC, and the next day picked up a new-to-me 2011 Cobalt 230. My wife ...

Thanks for most of those suggestions. I’ll use a hair dryer and Goo Gone. Will post pics and my Cobalt history after I have new numbers in place.
