Old thread but figured I would share my input for the next person that digs this up. In the engine bay there are side panels that cover the gap between the hull liner and the exterior hull if you remove this panel you can reach in a good ways into that area, maybe not enough to get to your mounting ...

I'm was a salt water guy for years and have been through all the name brands but Costa 580 glass is what I will wear from now on. The optics are as good or better than maui jim, the glare reduction beats oakley and the scratch resistance on the glass is not comparable to any other I have tried. You ...

1996 190 with a 5.0 FL turning a 4 blade prop 44MPH GPS full of fuel 2 people and the dog. The interior has been redone but the outside is very dry, started wet sanding yesterday. Will be boating South Alabama, Lake Martin to Destin, Fl. Docked at Gant Lake
