Cobalt Family

I have been using this site a lot lately and realized I never formally introduced my self and my boat. I recently purchased my first Cobalt a few months ago and can honestly say its the nicest boat I have ever had. I have recently been a Chaparral owner with my last boat being a ...

Cobalt 262 Bimini top question

Cobalt brethren

I could use your help once again. Last weekend I was on the lake and ended up in a small rain storm. Obviously in an effort to beat the storm I got caught in some strong winds which played havoc on my Bimini top. Essentially the wind was strong enough to bend the clips on the front ...

Re: Skeg Guard

Big Block Power ...........it was Highport Marina on Texoma. And yes it a great place to watch the craziness. It was a zoo out there. I usually launch at a different ramp but that one doesnt have a courtesy dock to park the boat. I was solo this weekend so needed a courtesy dock to park and then run ...

Re: Skeg Guard

Thanks Holy Smokes / jhnmdahl for your response. I think your point makes sense so will move forward with filing and a little paint if needed. Still doesnt help with the pain though. No doubt I wont ever forget it again!!

Brethren

I could use some sympathy as I am now a new member of the "leaving the outdrive down while exiting the ramp"!!! YES I am in IDIOT!! Of all the boats I have owned I have never done this before so I guess I was due. It was a perfect day and had no issues on the lake but I guess my brain was ...

Re: Stainless docking lights

Update:

Thanks to AsLan7 I was able to speak with Barnegat Lights about my lights and as expected (and mentioned) the hole is bigger for the white light assembly so no chance of adding the stainless lights. So I will embrace the ones that I have and at least upgrade to LED lights. Thanks to ...

Re: Stainless docking lights

Thanks AsLan7 for the response. And hope to hear from the others. I guess my biggest concern is how much fabrication is required to replace to stainless outside of wiring them in? Hoping the existing hole is the same size for the newer housing?

Stainless docking lights

Gents I need some more guidance. Sorry I am the "new" guy so still have lots of questions. Dont worry though....I wont ask about trailer tires. :D

My 2002 262 has docking lights but they have a white plastic housing rather than the "stainless cans"? So I am curious if anyone has had the same and ...

Re: Ski Pylon

Cobalt Brethren

Quick update: I am still holding out hope that the said "dealer" comes through for me on a new pylon. Again they said it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get it. It is one state away so will probably do a road trip up there just to make sure its the right part. Spending this kind of money ...

Re: Ski Pylon

Cobalt Brethren

First thanks to everyone for responding. I was pleasantly surprised on all the responses, because some of the other forums I have been on usually has zero responses on specific topics. Again thanks! As it relates to my quest for a ski pylon...I found a dealer who could order one for ...

Re: Ski Pylon

Thanks Big Block Power. Lol....I made sure to check every compartment in the boat before posting on this forum. Trust me I didnt want to be "that guy". The previous owners (retired) had the boat for 5 years and only used the boat for pleasure cruising so they never checked for the pylon either. I ...

Re: Ski Pylon

Thanks "akorcovelos". I have calls into several different dealers / suppliers....waiting to hear back. Crazy because I thought this part would be easy to come by. I might have to find a fabricator to make one for me, provided I can get the specs on the pylon.

Thanks again
