Re: Bimini Storage Posts Positions
Thanks for the the response. I decided to disconnect the cross members. I was spending time in the cockpit imagining the to rear posts bouncing in a bit of a stressed manner if I kept those two cross braces attached. I just popped them off, and zipped them up in the boot. After spending some time ...

Re: 252 Crack in Transom Area OK or run?
In regards original post and subsequent crack issues: Don't walk...RUN!!!! Your salesman isn't do you any favors. For perspective, last year I sold my 1991 Bayliner Capri 2050 (yes...you call can laugh) and purchased my Cobalt. Well..lets say the proceeds helped pay for about 12% of the Cobalt. That ...

Bimini Storage Posts Positions
220 Owners,
So I'm one that folds the bimini down inside the boat and let it lay across the back seats with a few floaty pads under it to protect the fabric. It is tightly wrapped up inside the boot. My steps to do this is that I remove the front supports and put them in their holders under the ...

Update: My dealer ordered me some. They were like 25 cents a snap. So I got about 20 just to have backups.

Re: DuoProp Groan while trimming
Update for my DuoProp Groan: So I picked up my boat yesterday from service. It has about 62 hours on it and my mechanic said it was immaculate inside. Clean oil, no water, all my fluids looked great. Filters were clean, so not making any metal. He was very impressed. So anyways, I told him about the ...

Re: Crack in gelcoat
Definitely contact dealer. I'm assuming its a full on crack as it kinda also appears as a scratch. Hard to tell from pic. But if it is a crack, I'd be calling Cobalt right now. You should still have warranty left for them to repair.

Re: Cobalt ''C" embossed snaps
I thought about Seadek. I called them and they do not have my template. I wasn't sure about the hassle of copying mine and getting it off to them, so I held off.
Thoughts?

Re: Does this make me a bad person?
In regards to the original posted video: No, you're not a bad person at all. Listen, everybody knows somebody who was best friends with each member on that boat and they all are super awesome individuals with years and years of racing experience under their belts and they were only going 44% of a ...

Re: Watch for Debris on TRL this July 4th
Yowsers! I wonder what kind of force would need to be applied to twist the splines like that? I don't recall those shafts being a 'sacrificial' part of the system, but I could be wrong. Did the hit blow up your prop? Clearly nothing seemed afoul as you went the whole season on it. Dang.

Thanks for the ideas! I'll check it out this week/weekend. Good points to consider. The alignment comment...hmm...does that happen often?

DuoProp Groan while trimming
CC et cal.,
I have a 2014 Cobalt 220s with a DuoPro. I've noticed that after running it for a while, when I go to trim down the out drive I hear a noticeable groan coming out of the system. It ONLY happens after I've been cruising for considerable time at higher RPM's (3200+). So for example, as i'm ...

Re: CS23 Sport Interior - Sunburst/Tahoe Gray
Not a fan of this on a Cobalt. It'll grow old real quick I would imagine. This is something that reminds me of a mid 80's Glastron, or Bayliner, or something like that, like its trying to hard to be cool and edgy. I just hope you pull out some green Oakley M-Frames to wear while cruising down the ...

Re: Towing with Mooring Cover
Good info. I hope I don't hijack here, but the mooring cover tow question is one I'm constantly dealing with. I had a custom fit cover out of Sunbrella material made with the goal of it providing substantial coverage and was purpose built for towing. However, we did not put any vents behind the ...
