I switched colors because the blue showed every imperfection and with the OCD I seem to have, thought it was best to go with a lighter color.

Picked up my replacement 2020 R5 on Friday. Couldn’t be happier about how Cobalt swapped me out of my 2019. The new boat came out fantastic. They even installed the old dock lights that I requested that you can only get on their larger boats now. Check her out.

I’m about to winterize my R5 and wanted to hear your opinions on putting a small marine engine heater in the engine compartment. I will obviously do the quick drain and put fuel stabilizer in the gas tank. Is this enough? I keep my boat in a covered dock behind my home on Lake Norman, NC.

This his what i got today. 80 outside.

When the water is smooth I can get my 350hp to hit 52-53 with the trim up at level 4. Has 28 hours on it.

My dealer told me that the R5 is not going anywhere, and the R6 that is coming out is to fill the void Cobalt has in the 26-27 foot range. Right now, any new R5 that are being ordered will be a 2020. Latest update: like some of you had said, they want to replace the hull. They want to ship it back to me to use during the summer and have it sent back to them in the “off season” to replace the entire hull.

Air voids, Cleat over tightening, pin hole sized gaps in gel coat, hair in gel coat, etc are not shipping related damages.

I actually have the second one. Looks pretty darn good to me. Boats with a colored hull stand out more I think. I do like the other options as well though.
