Re: Installing tower speakers on R5 Surf
I am installing tower speakers in R3 surf. The wire jack labeled tower speakers has two sets of white wires and two sets of orange. The wires in the tower are blue, when I connect to the only blue wires seem to be unused by the amps, it back fed my helm speaker with zone 4 sound. Need help ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
Yeah, my dealer is not worth a flip. We are considering contacting Cobalt to switch our servicing dealer to another in Nashville TN. We dealt with this same dealer with our previous boat and had the same issues, but we where held to a sales territory for Cobalt so had to order from them. Huge ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
I didn't think this would be a technical fix or just an adjustment of habit. But like every store or dealership I deal with nowa days, the salesmen or employees just don't research or know there product well enough to help in anyway. Frustrating to say the least.

Re: Fuel gauge not working on R5 Surf
These dealers are a joke, they sell boats and that's it. Yes, this should be done before every delivery. They know it's an issue. We should not have to calibrate a dam thing on a $100k + boat. At least it's not like my Malibu where I would get a low fuel warning beep and on the screen every 5 min ...

Re: Ballast tanks losing water after filling.
The pump does not close. It's just relying on the impeller to stop the flow. Just imagine the head pressure of that tank which is 5 times higher than the pump and tubing. Its just pushed back out until the pressure equalizes. Which in the tall tank, it looses almost half the water. At least after ...

I only put the 300 in my R3, max people and full of ballast and have not had a power issue whatsoever.

Re: Sound system 2016 R7
The JL sub they put in is actually a very good sub, you can play with amp settings a bit to make sub kick in at a higher octave. I also changed all the cockpit speakers a bit also. The factory sets them very high to limit distortion, mine a more full range now and sound great. I also added an ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
I would think most that use those coolers trailer there boats and it makes sense to build your cooler at home or the gas station right on the boat. We build coolers up at the house and take them down to the dock, when we go out on the boat we bring a cooler with us. That's not so funny, just ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
No those compartments are still there in the surf edition. Just not easy to organize or access those areas when you have passengers aboard. I think they should eliminate the "built in coolers" that I would never use as such and make them better storage areas. There is so much unused space under ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
I believe this is the 4th or 5th year of the WSS edition R3's. I know for sure it was 2017 when tabs and ballasts were introduced. WSS has been around awhile. First year for full glass dash. These simple bugs would be worked out by now if they were going to do anything about it.

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
All great points and appreciate the info and will try all. We went with the R3 because we own a lake house with a huge dock and do not spend the entire day on the boat, we go in and out throughout the day with smaller groups. Hence the smaller boat, the 7 is more my speed and size I'm comfortable ...

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
These really are just annoying little quirks that are frustrating as on operator and I will work them out over time. I hope Cobalt would appreciate the input and maybe make some of those changes in upcoming models.

Re: R3 engine shut down, surfer pick up
Wake board racks instead of surf racks, standard Roswell rack only will hold 1 surf board each and bungee will not reach to secure.
