Re: Replacing batteries with dual AGM

Lots of people have used various AGM batteries, and they perform well - see here for another thread on battery choices - https://www.cobaltchat.com/viewtopic.php?t=9170

I haven't used dielectric grease on battery terminals, but don't see much harm if you have corrosion issues. I do have a battery ...

Re: 2003 8.1 Volvo Penta muliple attemps to start

How old is the battery? It could be that the battery is a bit weak, the ignition switch is corroded, etc. - it takes less energy to start a warm engine than a cold one. It could also be a vacuum leak, clogged injectors, bad plugs or plug wires, or a number of other such things.

New gas and filter ...

Interesting 250BR for sale (30k, not mine)

BBP, this looks like one for you (check out the 496!) - https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 797194676/

Looks super clean for a 20 year old boat, and the guy seems to take care of it.

Re: R6 forward Bilge exact location?

You're saying that if you switch the forward bilge pump switch off, it stays lit up (i.e. is running automatically)? I don't have an R6 myself but I think I recall seeing somewhere that the forward bilge pump is under a floor storage compartment forward of the ski locker. Hopefully someone who has ...

Re: Reproducing Vinyl Logo for Condurre 203

Some have had luck buying logos from a dealer like Gordy's - see https://www.cobaltchat.com/viewtopic.php?p=109336#p109336

If you choose to have a shop cut you new letters, you can either have them type it out themselve using software like Adobe Illustrator, or use a vector logo from Cobalt - see ...

Here you go, Jzupon - https://cobaltboats.com/art/manuals/2018_R7_OM.pdf

I saw this one as well, jmd. He has the WSS model and I believe he’s looking for ballast tank and surf operations in the manual. I was not able to find that for him.

Re: CS22 wetsounds stereo build

Sorry in advance for bringing a four year old thread back to life, but I am planning to add an amp to our base system in our 2022 CS23 and am looking for guidance on install. The 2022 has a Fusion black box (MS-WB670, 4 channel built in amp) and the same 6 RF speakers. How are the four rear ...

Re: Lots of iron filings after flush. Overheat troubleshooting.

It won't be bent where the propellers attach - it will be bent further in, which may cause the overheating you're seeing. It's probably time for a shop visit.

Some people also put them on the side of the helm in the "walkthrough," if it's not blocked by a door or some other element. The place Aslan pointed out does seem to be the favorite, though, and it's pretty easy to access and to wire.

Re: Boat Bling Products

Lots of folks here love the hot sauce and vinyl sauce in particular, bit I don't have much personal experience with them. I've kept with 303, which is probably in the same realm, largely because it's worked well enough for me for a lot of years that I just haven't been motivated enough to try ...

Re: 1990 223 Leaking steering actuator

First thing I'd try is a bit of solvent to loosen up anything locking it in there, like PB blaster, WD-40, or the like (leave it for several hours) and a drift punch or pin punch. If that doesn't work there are pin press tools that look like C clamps that may be able to get it out, but they're ...

Re: 262 cracked gauge panel repair

That's really impressive work. If you're getting fisheyes, sealing with shellac will often remedy that, but it sounds like you found another solution. Really nice job, especially considering the dollar cost of replacement panels and knowing you now have the skills and a process down for keeping them ...

Re: 262 cracked gauge panel repair

Homan, one of the challenges is that the finish on these (I think it's urethane?) is likely much harder than the underlying veneer, making it pretty challenging to sand the finish off without damaging the veneer. I think if you were planning to put a new layer of veneer on the panel it might be ...
