Re: Cobalt 373 Question

Whippled263 wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 7:39 am How do you expect to find one to buy?
If I were serious about it, I'd probably set up a search, like https://www.boattrader.com/boats/make-cobalt/length-36/ and check it regularly.

Re: 2004 Cobalt 262 engine hatch lifts?

Atwood and Taylor Made have both made cylinders for Cobalts, and maybe others. Best bet is to look at the cylinder carefully for a manufacturer/model number. If that fails, measure the length of the rod open and closed, and you can probably get real close.

edit - check out thread like this one ...

Re: Cobalt 373 Question

The 373 wasn't a big numbers boat, but was made earlier than 2010 (maybe 2008 or so)? Its successor, the A40, may also be interesting.

Edit - Cobalt also made the 37 and the 46, bigger boats that don't follow their normal naming conventions and weren't made for long either. I suspect the 37 and the ...

That's a LOT of boat for that price. From the big 420hp engine, to the custom stereo, to the Garmin chartplotter, plus the low hours, seagrass, and other maintenance, I hope you find an excited new owner soon!

The standard has always been the Blue Sea or Perko rotary dial battery switch. I've never seen a push button one either.

Yeah, mounting above the waterline reduces the risk of any leaks or cracks turning catastrophic.

Re: 1998 232 ignition circuit breakers amperage?

My ignition switch has a light near it, but not an ignition breaker. I think it'd be unusual to find a breaker there, or one for the ignition, as it can pull hundreds of amps for brief periods.

Edit - found a picture of a similar boat and it looked a lot like a breaker, maybe for ignition-switched ...

Re: Check Shift Actuator fault

Connections on the shift solenoid look good? Shift actuator motors do go bad, but I think that's less likely, and throwing parts at it can get more expensive than shop labor fast. Hopefully others will chime in too.

Re: Boat Lift Battery

In the FAQ on the SunLift Legacy page, they say that a group 27 deep cycle battery is typically expected to last 2-3 seasons. Sounds like this may not be atypical, despite feeling like it didn't last long. Could always see if you can find a group 31 battery to replace it with and hope to extend it ...

Re: Boat Lift Battery

I'm curious what happens if you take the original lift battery and put it on a charger for a day. It sounds like you've got the right setup, and the battery should be fine.

Yes, there's just too much area for cloth to sag. The poles are almost a necessity if the cover is used outdoors to prevent rain from pooling up.

Re: Battery Mystery

Insulation on a battery cable can vary in thickness, so other than stripping a section and measuring the copper directly it's tough to know the gauge exactly. Many but not all manufacturers print or embed it in the battery insulation. I'd be surprised if the batter cable was small enough to make a ...

Re: CS 22 bowrise

Freeboard can vary a bit based on what's in the boat, and I don't have one to estimate from. Cobalt lists bridge clearance without bimini as being 3'11" (or 6'10" with bimini). Draft is 24" with drive up and 37" with drive down, and deadrise is 20 degrees at the transom.

Re: VP 8.1 GXI Trim Tilt

Thank you for digging on this Jhmndahl. The switch on that 202 is the Mercruiser version and it DOES have the 3 color wires. It is not plug n play for a Volvo, but as I have discovered, neither is mine.

If you follow the link to the boat, it appears to be a Volvo engine and outdrive. I ...
