Re: Looking to purchase 360 with Volvo Penta 8.1 GXI
BBP your GXI sounds awesome! Agree with A7 it looks smooth as silk from the cockpit side but sounds rowdy and lumpy on the exhaust side...as it should be. That said I have a similar concern as OP with our new to me Merc 8.1 375...it drops so low on idle occasionally that it reminds me of my old carb ...

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
Nice Red Stripe clean looking install and I really like the idea of keeping air moving under cover. I'll add it on the list of items to do. 1 week into ownership and I have a year worth of projects!

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
I took a closer look at the setup for storage on the CONVERTIBLE TOP
...If its not a factory job the previous owner did a pretty good job with the install - location and hardware look spot on. I will keep an eye on it.

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
Thanks for the welcome Ytmsn, and for clearing up why I have two tops. Learned a new term - Rain Bimini. Salesman explained it attached low but didnt use that term. Cant wait to get out there on the water, turn the kids loose and practice swapping tops. There were 3 covers stashed in the boat as ...

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
Ahh ok that's funny!. I'm going to stick with it for now as we get used to the drill. We are accessing up and down via that manner just not feeling comfortable with the amount of weight I feel I need to put on the glass to do it. Boys are 9 and weigh 50 + lbs ... and slightly more nimble... im sure ...

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
Hahaha you saw that.... I used a $5 cause it was windy and was afraid it was going to blow away! I got the tip from one of your pics.... assume you put it there to keep people from stepping on that piece of plastic/plexi trim when they step up on the bow? I'm sure a $100 wouldn't cover it either! I ...

Re: Cobalt 263 in PA
Thanks for the welcome and input.. A7 I think what your seeing is factory installed battery charger. Had not known about this option looks like a cool little unit. Will post more pics when I catch up on sleep and give her a much needed bath.

Cobalt 263 in PA
Hello all
Just picked up 2003 263 with a 375 hp Mercruiser (and Captains Call) from Gordys in Wisconsin and brought it back to PA. We will use mainly on the Upper Chesapeak. This forum was a big help and played a role in making my mind up that I only wanted a Cobalt as our family's first boat. It ...
