Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
None at all, the outboards have worked perfectly in the shallow water. I’ve had so many friends comment on how smooth and quiet the boat is, wouldn’t change a thing one year later!

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
Thanks everyone!
We were able to self quarantine today on the bay in Destin/FWB and it was great! Unfortunately had to return the boat back to dealer for the next few weeks for the installation of options we added plus we have to install larger lift on our dock.... but today was a good “get to know ...

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
The deal is officially done! We are adding a few more options that will take a few weeks to complete....Love the boat and cobalt quality, this is our first cobalt and can’t wait to take possession. Thanks for the input that’s been shared here.

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
Sea trial on 30sc went great, no issues with our shallow opening and what an amazing boat powered by twin 300 Yamahas....really smooth!
Now the negotiations have started and the stock market has everyone nervous....hoping this might assist with all the chaos going on right now.

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
We are doing a sea trial on a 30sc tomorrow, if it works in our shallow water, I suspect that will be our route...it’s a beautiful boat but definitely stretching our budget...it’s hard to dismiss everyone here in fla comments on going OB for the long term in saltwater.

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
That’s my biggest concern, buy now or wait....I’ve talked to some folks that think an R6 will be this year and an R8 OB could be late this year also or spring next year....running and owning an R7 in saltwater will probably ensure I plan on owning for a while.

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
Ok, had sea trial today on R5 (same draft as R7) and we had no issues getting in and out of my inlet...it was a rising tide but not high tide...that was a big relief, now have to decide on R7 and maintenance in saltwater or wait to see what’s available with the new R series.....locals still ...

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
Was hoping to sea trial the R7 and drive to our inlet this week but dealer doesn’t have R7 or 5 right now.....I did notice the 30sc at the dealership with twin 300hp outboards, beautiful boat but it still has a 26in draft and again the outboards would not be our first choice..but I think we would ...

Re: Thinking about a 2020 R7
Did you test drive the R7? And any concerns about the shallow water? I guess we got used to driving the Yamaha whenever we wanted and liked not having to watch the tides.....but like you, the cobalt has our attention.
