I removed my wood trim panels and had them redone by Technografic. New Wire Marine also will remake the panels.
see the below link for pictures of the Technografic panels. Samuel Sheldon is great to work with.

Winter Project Instrument Panels
The plastic encapsulated wood instrument panel and glove box cover trim had begun to yellow around the edges and in need of an update.
I removed both panels and sent them to Technografic. They did a great job making a new set in an updated textured black which I just installed.

Re: 2001 C226 steering wheel replacement
The steering shaft should be a 3/4" locking tapered shaft. The hub adapter should have a 3/4" hole with 3 keways cut into it. There is a woodruff key on the old wheel that you will reuse on one of the three keways.

Re: Cobalt steering wheel
I have a steering wheel like the one you want. It was on my 2006 220.
The wood is splitting at the ends and its not perfect, but it could be put into presentable condition with a little work. Photo below.
Let me know if you are interested.

Re: lift question
I have owned and installed Hydrohoist lifts. They are very adjustable to whatever width and height you need. If you go to the Hydrohoist website, the installation manual can be downloaded. It is pretty simple but as mentioned the local dealer or marina will adjust it for you for a small charge.

Re: Wiring Diagram for 1997 Cobalt 200
Beggining in the manuals for 2002 Cobalt boats the wiring diagram is in the manual. May be similar to wiring in 1997. The diagram is simplified so if you need information for each wire they dont provide that information. You may be able to decide the color coding by looking at the ABYC specs for ...

Re: Always Admired Cobalt
See below. I have not installed it yet. I think the steering shaft is a 3/4" tapered shaft. Are there any keys or is it just a locking taper you push on and tighten?
See the photo attached for the wheel I bought. I knew it would be high quality because it is used by Cobalt.

Re: Always Admired Cobalt
The Cobalt color is called Mahogany (maroon in the crayola box). It is like new because a previous owner had a mooring cover made with covers on each side.
It would not be my first pick for a color but it is growing on me. I will need to keep it well waxed.

Re: Always Admired Cobalt
Just the venerable 5.0 270 hours. That is fine for now. Just had a complete service engine and DP. Fortunately I had a local dealer do an inspection and the seller had them do a complete service on engine and drive. (oil & filter, fuel filter, serpentine belt, impeller, plugs, distributor cap, drive ...

Always Admired Cobalt
Now I have one. Hello to forum members.
I am attaching a couple of photos of my 2006 220 for your viewing pleasure. Replacing a Bryant 196 I have owned for 19 years. Great boat. This should be even better once the ramps open up here.
