Hi Ryanr! I have the same make/model/year boat, and I'm here to help! :D
First, the depth gauge on the boat reads wildly inaccurately. On the trailer it shows 140ft. I read something about a fluid being added to it to fix this?
Get a garmin and disconnect it. Mine never worked well. Had to ...

Re: Transom speakers in her big old back end?
I have the same boat and looking at doing the same thing. My boats on the lift in the Ozarks, I won’t have access for a couple of weeks. I like your tower, which one is it?
ScottyT, any chance you're still around/receiving notifications? I'd be interested to see what you've done with your boat ...

Re: 1992 Cobalt 190 cant find my HIN.
I had a similar issue with mine. I figured a paint job wiped it out from a previous owner. In my state we have to have a pencil rubbing of the HIN for some reason. I ordered a plate off Amazon with the number etched in it and stuck it on the boat. Worked well enough for the paper pushers to give me ...

So to follow-up, I think things turned out as best they can..
Now I have actual flappers (I suspect these have been long gone...) and a couple new exhaust boots.. And a clamp that appears to be trust worthy on the hose..
Now if the weather would just warm up..

Re: Blew the engine coolant line off.. talk me through this..
The impeller has proven very well that it works great! It filled the bilge in no time! I apparently have two backups for it on the boat - one new in a bag and an old one in good condition... they were worthless!

Blew the engine coolant line off.. talk me through this..
Yesterday on my way to put the boat into the slip for the first time this season after working on it a lot of the past few weeks, I blew the outfeed on the impeller pump off. As best I can tell, the clamp wasn't on there very well.. and that'd be my fault from winterizing time, I suppose, as I haven ...

Re: Somewhere to start, if you can't..
so as a follow-up -- I had to drive 40 minutes to a reputable shop to get the part... but now that it's in, everything works!
The captain's call, too!
Good thing it's not an "Admiral's call" or it'd never get used.
Maybe it's just placebo or the feeling of having fixed it, but the motor just ...

Somewhere to start, if you can't..
Hello fellow boaters!
I've dealt with an issue for some time now, where my boat wouldn't start. I wouldn't get turnover, just a click from the slave solenoid up top on the engine. The engine would *eventually* start if I kept beating on the switch, but I have lost trust in it and this year I ...

Re: I/O conversion
Rebuild transom. Get bracket. Hang outboard. Rig outboard. Boat.
Have fun with the glass work, I suppose?
What model boat are you looking at doing it on?
Edit to add - I've seen some IO conversion brackets that use the motor mounts and the existing transom hole.. that might make things a little ...

Re: Through hull transducer in a '94 hull?????
I've got a 98 272, and upgraded to a 9" Garmin unit on the dash. I just drilled a hole on the starboard side under the swim platform and mounted a transom transducer. It came with a clamshell. The whole area got a bunch of 4200 to seal it up. The depth sounder has been disconnected.
