Re: 2020 R5 bucks like a mule
jhnmdahl ... Thanks for the comment. I did not think about it throwing a code because the engine started each time; I will ask Dealer to check it out. Dealer did tell me flatly that there are no vapor lock issues on Cobalts; if there was, it would not start. Dealer threw out new spark plugs. She ...

Re: How to access back of Garmin on A29
Nice. Good lookin’ boat. Some rocket surgeon at Garmin moved the SD reader from the front to the back? Ugh. Not intimately familiar with the A29, but you should have access to everything on your dash from directly under the helm. I have to lay on my back with my head on the foot rest to see all the ...

Re: 2020 R5 bucks like a mule
They were “hot” starts at the end of the day. I usually wait a bit after turning on the ignition before engaging the starter …. Usually a few seconds after the “beep”. When I say she bucked like a mule, the starboard side of the stern raised 3”-4” first and then it moved to the port side; all of ...

2020 R5 bucks like a mule
After starting the engine, it bucked like a mule, shuttered, then purred like a kitten - all in a 5 second period. My issue happened twice over the weekend. Once after watching an incredible sunset at Lake Ouachita then again before running up my lift. Each time, I had been running at 1200 - 900 ...

Relays were replaced, and I have not had a Garmin issue since. Thank you all.

Re: Garmin's failing intermittently
This is good information. My Garmins have been hit or miss for a couple of years. My dealer “fixed” them last Summer, but my issues have returned. Issues include same as described in this post and sometimes they’re on but I get no data or partial data. They will usually work when I drop her from the ...

Re: 2020 R5 Surf
I have a 2020 R5 as well, and I’m having the exact same issue. The issue coincided with the replacement of my trip pump. Trim sender being replaced today, but I did not know about the override. Great information. Dealer told me they’re having a rash of these issues right now.

Re: 2022 A29 major issues
Wow. I hopped on this thread because I'm considering a move from an R5 to an A29. This is the most uncharacteristic thing I've ever read relative to my own personal experience with Cobalt and my Cobalt dealer .... "Cobalt" has always been synonymous with "High Quality" no matter the model. I ...

Re: Garmin connectivity to engine data
The Garmin connectivity to engine data has been a recurring issue for me as well; I posted something about it a year or so ago. I've had a couple of folks PM me (including bruceb58) over the past couple of years regarding the same. I'm a CPA not an electrician, and the info above is great and more ...

Re: Garmin connectivity to engine data
I’ve been crazy busy traveling, building things, and farming. I haven’t had time to run down and try additional recommendations. I broke down and called my dealer. It should be under warranty. I’ll update when I hear from my service folks.

Re: Garmin connectivity to engine data
The pic is a little fuzzy, but all I get is GPS tracking, GPS Speed, and Voltage ….. no depth, water temp, fuel, rpm, and other engine data. I went into the installation section and tried to auto detect …. nada. zippo. nuthin’. It does, however, show 1 engine. This is a good thing because that’s all ...
