For sale is a 1975 16ft Cobalt. It has the original Mercruiser 140hp engine. My Dad bought it new and it has been in the family ever since. Dale, I just saw your post. First time I've been on this year. I did find a guy who owns Vinyl Approach. He's online. The decals he made were very good. Your boat looks great. I haven't seen another 16 footer besides mine....ever! Maybe I just don't get out much.

Wanted to let you guys know I had the decals made from an online site called Vinyl Approach. He does a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Haven't put them on yet but when I do I'll take pics.

I honestly don't know what it is. It's a real thin metal. A guy at work said it is a foil sticker. I've never heard of it but it feels like that. I'm certainly not looking for the same. Something like a vinyl decal would work for me as long as it looks the same. I don't know how you would do it but ...

Thank you. We have been thinking about taking it up to Lake Geneva sometime. We took the mail boat run around the lake a few years ago and about every dock had a Cobalt in it. Very cool lake.

I thought of that. I think i can have someone duplicate the frame but i am afraid that duplicating the emblem itself would look worse than i already have. I have concluded they used a foil backed sticker on it. I attached a better picture. this is the one on the engine cover ...

Cobalt wasn't much help. They told me they contracted all that out and my best hope would be to have someone make them for me which I guess makes sense. Not to get down on the people at Cobalt but just to get that information took 5 phone calls, a couple of emails and a letter sent via the Post ...
