Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
You can’t take the upper and lower sections apart unless you cut them. Mine was very hard to collapse but the welder lubricated the ladder and it is much easier to collapse now. I also suspect the additional hole in the ladder that I drilled to pound out the dent helps. The Original hole that lets ...

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
Somewhat old thread but I do have an update. I was able to remove the ladder while the boat was on the lift (over the water). That was no fun but I didn’t drop anything. You can’t believe how many little pieces there are. I too latter to a welder and he did take off the rubber pad and did a nice job ...

Re: Debadging the "COBALT" lettering?
I had a COBA for some time. I replaced them. I got individual letters from a dealer on candlewood lake in Connecticut

Re: Refurbishing trailer
Coming back to life. Actually amazing shape when I got all the grime off. The bunks were in perfect condition( except carpet) but the hardware was not. I’m not sure why stainless hardware wasn’t used originally. I need to do some minor rust repair on the uprights and then recarpet the bunks. The ...

Re: My 220 Umbrella
Cool idea. Almost exactly the same color boat as mine. What is the oval stainless piece on your swim platform?

Refurbishing trailer
I don’t use my trailer much as my boat stays on a lift at Norris Lake. However, we want to check out some nearby lakes and I also need to fix my ladder so now is a good time to take the boat out. The only issue is that there is some wear in the carpet and the bunks are starting to weather. I went to ...

Funny story from a couple years ago.
My wife and I have been very long-time cobalt owners but we are chronic lookers. A couple of years ago we went to the Knoxville boat show and fell in love with the R5. There was a really nice and helpful man at the cobalt area and he seemed to know a great deal about the boats. We talked for what ...

Re: 2004 220 swim ladder broke
I have all of the pieces so I may try to have it welded. Is there something special about welding stainless? Not sure if the dent can be fixed but if so I may be able to fix what I have. Wish I could fit a new style flip down swim platform.

2004 220 swim ladder broke
Not really sure what to do about this. The is a stop on the back of the ladder that keeps the telescoping ladder from bending back too far. The stop broke off and then the stress on the step resting on the remnant of the stop and dented the tube. The dent is preventing the lower step from retracting ...

Re: Cobalt 220 transom speakers
Just above the platform the trans one is flat. There is definitely room. I’m just not sure I have the courage.

Cobalt 220 transom speakers
This may have been discussed so I’ll apologize in advance. Has anyone put speakers in the transom of a 220? Mine is a 2004 so there is plenty of room on transom and clearance in engine compartment. I’m concerned about structural issues cutting holes in transom and water issues given that the ...

Welcome...from another new member and fellow 220 owner. Looks like your boat has had a serious stereo upgrade.
