I know about the paint chips but did not see any evidence of it. I'm trying to chase down the rough idle that makes my motor shake really bad. As seen in the video its being caused by the erratic fuel pressure, I believe. Other than the rough idle, the motors never stall and run good, and also ...

Volvo Penta 8.1 GXI
Pressure tested both low pressure fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump on both motors. Low pressure tested good on both motors, steady 10 psi. High pressure fuel pump on both motors is erratic between 30 - 40 psi. Are both high pressure fuel pumps bad? Do I need to look ...

Went for a sea trial on a 2008 262 w/ the 8.1 GXI. Pretty impressed with the torque of this motor, performed really well. Although, at idle the motor had a bit of a shake to it, kinda like it was surging. Owner said that was normal?

I can tell you mine is not smooth. Very rough and you think that it will actually stall.
Normal. 1st one is a bit off idle on purpose. My 8.1gi was Perfectly smooth. Totally diff cam in the gxi.
I might have the injectors cleaned this coming off season too see if it changes next year but I don't ...

Looking to purchase 360 with twin Volvo 8.1 GXI. Went for sea trial all looked good reached maxed RPM, all gauges checked, good oil pressure etc. 300 hours
