Oxidation Removal and Wax
Just getting my '01 226 out of storage and want to do a thorough cleaning of the hull. I bought it last year and has some oxidation. I'm looking for suggestions on a buffing kit for my drill and what oxidation remover/ wax to use. Leaning towards Meguiar's kit but looking for recommendations. Thanks!

Re: Exhaust Tube Leak
Ok, got one side off. Looks like it might take some time to get new ones. It doesn’t look like these are torn, maybe just adhesive dried up? Do you think it would be all right to apply new adhesive and see if they hold up until the new ones arrive?

Exhaust Tube Leak
My 2001 226 with Mercruiser 350 MAG has a small amount of water leaking out of the 2 exhaust tubes/ elbows. I tried tightening the clamps because they were loose but they are still leaking. Has anyone had this problem before? Could it harm the motor? I realized it at the end of a long day on the ...

Re: Bow/ Cabin Covers On or Off During Towing?
It's a 2001, snap on cover, bow and cabin. Just wasn't sure if people usually tow with them on or off. It doesn't seem like they would blow off. Thanks

Navionics/ Sonaphone/ Bad Elf/ iPad
Does anyone have a photo of Navionics set up on an iPad? I'm thinking about going with Navionics on an iPad mini with Sonaphone and Bad Elf. I downloaded the free trial of Navionics on my iPhone but wasn't really impressed, had trouble navigating the app, etc. I'm thinking it might be better with ...

Re: Fishfinder/GPS install
Thank you! Do you need the bad elf if you are using Navionics? Won't the Navionics track your location on the chart? I'm still researching all this stuff but I was thinking that the Novionics chart would show where you are and your path of travel even if you are working off the downloaded chart ...

The transducer. I am also looking at the option of the Vexilar SP200 SonarPhone to connect to a tablet. That is a transom mount transducer but I have also been thinking about in hull transducers. Decisions, decisions

Re: Fishfinder/GPS install
Did you ever have any luck with answers to your question? What kind of unit/ transducer are you going with? I recently purchased an '01 226 and am thinking about installing one but am new to this and have been trying to research. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Re: 1st Time Boat Owner, had to be a Cobalt
With your 350 mag engine, if your outdrive has two counter-rotating props it’s a Bravo 3 Outdrive. They are great for holeshot at the expense of losing a little top end speed.
Now let’s get some stainless docking lights! Any interior or engine pics?
Great call on the docking lights! The dealer ...
