Average height of R5 on trailer with tower up and down for garage door height
Looking to purchase an R5 next boating season and we are getting ready to build a house. Would like to get an idea of what size garage door I should go with to give us the flexibility to buy an R5 with a tower. For the people that have R5s what is the height with the tower up and the tower down? I ...

Re: 2000 206 Depth Sounder
Sent a chat in response to yours as well. My 2000 206 has a Humminbird HDR 200RM and the original owners left every manual in the boat so I have a copy. Tried checking the Humminbird website but couldn't find a copy. Let me know what you are looking for and I can send a pic of that page(s)

Re: 2001 226 stern light replacement
I just went through this. Replaced my non-working motorized light with an adaptor plate sold by safeglowhips.com and then installed a Perko 2-pin plug (1045POSDP) with a removable light pole. Works perfect.

Now I am looking at the adaptor plate and LED color changing boat whip light from safeglowhips.com. Anybody have any experience with that setup?

replacement for motorized stern light
My original motorized stern light by innovative lighting is not retracting all of the way. Took it apart and the plastic guide is kinked and not repairable. Looking for a replacement that preferably fits the larger round hole in the boat. Looked at the manually retractable light from innovative ...

Re: OEM Sony Remote Commanders not working after speaker upgrades
Determined that it was a bad audio cable going to the helm remote control. Now I can't figure out why the remotes don't illuminate. If I put power to them individually they light up. Traced the power wire (orange wire with red stripe) to under the dash but it just does a loop and goes back out ...

OEM Sony Remote Commanders not working after speaker upgrades
I recently added some amps and new speakers to the system. I kept the original Sony head unit and Sony remote commander (MRC-2) remotes at the helm and swim platform. They worked previously and now they do not work at all. The wiring changes that I made were all new wiring for the speakers, tied the ...

Re: power and ground wiring configuration for two amps
thanks for the input so far, I am running two (2) class D (4) channel amps to power (6) speakers and (1) sub. Each amp is rated at max of 1400W, which is meaningless. I will be running one amp at 125Wx4 RMS and the other amp at 125Wx2 and bridging two channels to get 350Wx1. I am planning on running ...

Re: power and ground wiring configuration for two amps
I am running two amps, both are the same amp. I assume that the 10% drop table from West Marine is appropriate for an amp? My options are to run separate 4 AWG wires for each amp or run a single 2 AWG power and ground to the amp location and split it there. Any advantages to either option?

Re: power and ground wiring configuration for two amps
1,400 W max power rating, class D, will be used to run 4 ohm speakers at 125 W RMS x 4 channels. Amp has (2) 30 A fuses. Total run from battery positive to amp and back to battery ground will be around 32' long. Also want to tie the head unit ground into the batteries as well to avoid any ...

Re: power and ground wiring configuration for two amps
thanks, I did figure out what size wire I needed to run. I was trying to figure out if running a large wire and splitting it near the amps was better than running two individual wires to each amp, keeping them independently powered and grounded?

power and ground wiring configuration for two amps
Adding two amps for speakers and sub, amps to be installed under glove box. Amps require 4 ga wiring. Wondering what the best wiring option is:
1. 0 ga wire off of the perko run that to the location of the amps (approx. 16' run) and then split it to the two 4 ga wires.
2. 0 ga wire off of the ...

no metal or anything else. Went ahead and put new gear lube in.
Not sure on hours, the hobbs meter says around 540 hrs. Last time I stopped by the local marina they couldn't get their computer to connect to the engine to read the hours.
