Re: Outboard vs sterndrive

Four Winns seems to have a great solution for those wanting OB power, but also wanting lots of swim platform real estate. They offer the same boat with an I/O and the folding terraces as well, but a single I/O pushing a 30' and 8k # boat seems underpowered unless it was a blue Merc.

Be cool if ...

You know what would help it sell quicker?

A sales price.

Re: Outboard vs sterndrive

Wonder when Cobalt starts adding terraces to their larger OB bowriders? That solves the swim platform limitations on a traditional OB BR.

Four Winns now has them on their 29' H9. Pretty cool.

Re: 2016 Cobalt A28 (highly optioned, very low hours)

Just curious why you are selling.

That's basically my dream boat from the exterior color scheme to the hard top. Though I prefer white interiors. If only capital spending at hospitals hadn't sucked since 2021 and may not improve for a few more years. Ugh.

That's a 6.0 VP yes, not the 6.2? Also ...

Re: Boat show season

I wonder if Formula does start to focus at least a little bit more on 28' and under BRs if they are paying attention and see that Cobalt quality reputation has been taking a hit under Malibu.

It's interesting they are focusing hard on CCs given how many big players already exist in that market.

Re: Boat show season

I like Formula's Flex program for this reason. If you want it and are willing to pay for it, they'll do it.

Saw a Formula 270BR for sale on Facebook recently with a Merc 520. So basically, their equivalent of a R7/8. I checked their website and only saw the option to go 430. So, I messaged the guy ...

Re: Boat show season

There's always a chance. Chriscraft circled the bowl for a long time, but seem to be making pretty good stuff again under Winnebago.

I saw a Launch 25 GT, and it's a pretty classy boat. Not cheap for a 25' boat, but I suspect they may take some sales that might have gone to the nicer A series ...

Re: Boat show season

Here's a picture for those who haven't seen the new R35 Coupe. Perhaps fugly is too harsh of a term. It just doesn't look like a Cobalt to me at all. Very boxy, almost like a Boston Whaler Pilot House. Compare it to say an A36. I'm not the biggest fan of the newer A Series models, but that's more ...

Re: Boat show season

Yikes between seeing that poor craftsmanship (as a boat show model no less) and a picture of the new fugly R35 Coupe today, it's a sad state of affairs for the brand. Amazing what people are willing to spend on new Cobalts today with what they've become

I've mentioned before that skiing is my greatest passion. I'm a moderator on a skiing forum and it's pretty amazing the amount of these bots. I assume there's a profit motivation. I've always been curious how successful they are at what they try and do.

Especially weird that such low traffic ...

Re: Cobalt after Malibu take over

I dont think they are going away necessarily. Looks like they were taken over by MarineMax. Not that this will necessarily fix any quality issues. But they look to still be around. I do like their styling.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect quality to go up. While they don't build them, Marine Max sells ...

Re: Monsoon Engines

So am I reading this correctly that the only options are 5.3 at 360HP or 6.2 at 430HP?

Probably makes sense vs offering 300/350 & 380/430.

I mentioned Ilmor earlier. Id be interested in taking a ride in a Formula with the 7.4 483HP setup from Ilmor. Curious how that motor would compare to a VP or ...
