Re: xpost -- questions about trim position sensor, 2019 vp380

Thank you! Super helpful. I'm realizing after thinking through this that my symptom (erratic measurement on the dash and the volvo keypad) is not likely to be solved by a calibration. I think the calibration just dials in "fully up" and "fully down". The flakiness/bounciness seems like a sensor ...

xpost -- questions about trim position sensor, 2019 vp380

Hey folks,

My primary question is: how common is it for trim position senders to fail on the VP380s?

On Saturday, we were about to go out on the water and I did the brain dead thing of trying to start the boat with the trim up. It just "beeped". I finally realized that the trim was up (whew) and ...

Re: Trim sender on a 2019 VP380?

Thanks -- I appreciate you sharing your experience here. A heck of a coincidence if the sender just happened to start failing immediately after my "failed start" case. I'm going to inspect the module and wiring to see if I can see anything obvious. I also saw some youtube videos of folks reparing ...

Re: Bolt for main hoop of folding Bimini loosening

Yeah, the Bimini does shake side to side when moving at speed. My primary ask is if someone with a similar Bimini can look to see if there are any washers in their setup that might be missing on mine. Loctite seems to be a good move too.

Bolt for main hoop of folding Bimini loosening

Hey folks I’m wondering if anyone else has run into this and has a solution. We have a 2019 R7 with a folding Bimini and the hex bolts that attach the main hoop to the hull work themselves loose relatively quickly. This is to the point where I check them every couple times out and they need a little ...

Re: Amp Location on 2021 R5

Can the amps be upgraded in a relatively plug and play manner? our 2019 R7 has the base audio and I wouldn't mind more punch.

Guessing this ^^ isn't going to work. Not sure of the easiest way to get photos in here from google photos? Read the FAQ and it looks like I'm too much of a Newb to have access to posting pics? :)

Re: Close to a deal on a used R7 -- arch questions

The hull inspection looked good yesterday, so I'm out of excuses and we're closing on it Tuesday :)

R7, VP380, Black sides w/white stripe, white and gray interior, elect head, sink, anchor, table, etc. And most importantly, underwater disco lights.

Re: Close to a deal on a used R7 -- arch questions

Thanks all. Looks like it might be possible but of course pricey. My guess is we will be happier with the Bimini but it is good to know there may be a way to throw money at it down the line if somehow my daughter becomes a hard core wakeboarder. We did the inspection of the hull this evening and ...

Re: Close to a deal on a used R7 -- arch questions

I'm honestly torn -- I see the benefits of both configurations. Just checking if this is one of those "impossible to do later" things. Thanks!

Close to a deal on a used R7 -- arch questions

I did a quick search and didn't find anything. Please point me in the right direction if I missed it.

We're close to a deal on a used R7. Great spec but the one thing I'd probably do differently if I was ordering is add an arch. It has a bimini, and I like teh versatility of biminis but we *may* do ...
