Or you can just use vinegar which is the active ingredient in it.
It also has a sealer in it that makes it easier to clean, at least my experience.

Re: Outboard vs sterndrive

I have a sterndrive primarily because outboards eat up most of the swim platform space...

I agree, the outboards take up the most valuable real estate on the boat if you use it like we do. I would also add that the outboards I have been on are louder than inboards. With all that said, for salt ...

Re: Volvo Penta Auto Trim Not functioning (?)

My VP R5 auto trim seems to go up in 5 degree increments. I've rarely seen it above 10, maybe once at 15. At 19 degrees, and a light bow load would certainly cause the conditions you mentioned.

Recommended VP two year bellows replacement

I've read the VP maintenance schedule for my 6.2 380 and it recommends bellows u-joint and exhaust bellow replacement every two years. My R5 is 4 years old. I thought I was pushing it so I took it to the local dealer for replacement. I was ready to spend the $ but the service manager basically ...

Re: Recommendations needed on boat covers

Echo the Cobalt mooring cover recommendation. The ratchet strap tightening mechanism makes it simple! They don't recommend trailering with it but I have done it for 4 years with no issues.

Re: Swim platform bushings

I just talked with my dealer about it. She said she would bring a couple in next week but not sure they are the right ones (the i.d. seems right at 1/2" but the o.d. is 3/4" but she said 1".) When I get them I'll let you know what the part number is. On a side note, I think I will add a chrome ...

Re: R5 windlass

I found within all of the documents that came with my new R5 a template for the bow cutout. Cutting it would not be for the faint of heart - it is thick! I love the all chain windlass!

Re: Ideal rope length for wakeboard

Old thread but still wondering... I don't know the difference between wake surfing and wake boarding. My nephew rides a wakeboard. He likes to jump the wake which is taller the closer to the boat he gets. Is it really super dangerous 25' behind the boat? In an emergency stop the boat would still ...

Re: R5 Swim Platform Speakers

The carry of the speakers is surely subjective and how much can you really expect from a pair of 8" (?) speakers but I think they sound good (I'm told by SO to turn them down all the time.) They do have a separate volume control.
