Recently purchased a lake house with a dock and lift. I had "a dock guy" come out and make sure the lift was setup for my Cobalt R5 correctly. He wanted to adjust the bunks and move the lift further in. This is what it looks like after the adjustment. The boat is as far in the slip as possible ...

My VP R5 auto trim seems to go up in 5 degree increments. I've rarely seen it above 10, maybe once at 15. At 19 degrees, and a light bow load would certainly cause the conditions you mentioned.

Echo the Cobalt mooring cover recommendation. The ratchet strap tightening mechanism makes it simple! They don't recommend trailering with it but I have done it for 4 years with no issues.

Get yourself a good oil vacuum - makes it simple.

I found within all of the documents that came with my new R5 a template for the bow cutout. Cutting it would not be for the faint of heart - it is thick! I love the all chain windlass!
