Bad kill switch
2006 Cobalt 250: kill switch has finally worn out. i would like to replace it with an OEM part. Anyone know what that might be? And how do I remove the old one? Just pry it out, or is there a secret? Operating with it jumpered out right now, but not very safe.

Re: Adopted
Dudley, first congrats on getting some 'rainy day' projects. They both look to be in fine shape for their age (I hear that from my sibs). But I'm a little surprised you didn't make points by sticking with the nicknames! I did, and she loves showing off 'her' boat.

Re: Need advice
Another point to consider; boat clubs typically put their club boats up for sale when the engine(s) hit 1,000 hours (at least they used to, harder nowadays with long lead times). The 2007 is a lot closer to that number. OTOH, same size engine in a smaller boat means more hp per pound. The lack of ...

Re: Time for the spring clean
Sailor, what did you wind up using, and how did you like it? If you like using 3M products, use the Perfect-It EX AC instead. Newer, much better product. I use Meguiar's. Their Oxidation Remover #49, with a white wool pad, then their Polisher #45 with a yellow pad, then their Flagship wax.

Replacement circuit breakers?
2006 Cobalt 250. One of the small circuit breakers in the driver console has gone bad (the one for the Nav/Anc lights specifically). Two questions:
1. Where can I find a replacement? I haven't got the old one out yet, so I don't have any kind of part number.
2. Any advice on removing/replacing it ...

Re: Noob need help with upholstery patch
I thought to buy it. $8.58 for the tube (reasonable); $9.95 to ship it! I will look for other options.

Year and model of your boat might help. Closer to BBP or Titaniumboy?

So, LakeCadillac, where are you in your Cobalt ownership journey? Have you pulled the trigger yet?

Re: Bimini wire lanyard
Excellent, thank you, Admiral. I've got a pop rivet gun, too. I think, if I can find the right size stainless steel rivets, I would prefer that to tapping for a screw. If it was good enough for Cobalt...

Re: another possibly ridiculous question
And, I think you have a viable solution if it ever quits; abandon it in place and install one where you want it. Adding a foot or two of suction hose will have very little effect on the Net Positive Suction Head, meaning very little effect on its pumping ability (yeah, I'm a former Navy engineer ...

Re: Bimini wire lanyard
Well, I just received my order from GLS, and it's....exactly as pictured. Guess I should have looked closer. Plus - the wire is coated so less abrasion. Minus - the crimps are marginal. I will likely put them in the vise and crimp them a little tighter. Another minus - they really are exactly as ...

Re: A thought on sealants and waxes
Is that true what ajfdj55 says, that washing with Dawn will strip Meguiars wax off? Not arguing, just never realized that Meguiars was that fragile and/or Dawn that powerful. I must say, that video from sailor55330 was impressive! Why would anyone pay the extra for Adams when it appears that Turtle ...

Re: Bimini wire lanyard
RMW, thanks for the ordering info for GreatLakesSkipper; perfect timing for me! I took the Bimini top off this morning to wash it (and 303 it). First time it's been off in 15 years (Prior owner never even used it. Strange to see 15 year old Sunbrella in perfect condition). And of course one of the ...
