Garmin 7607 Question
I am a new owner of a 2020 Cobalt R5 Surf with the Glass Cockpit - Garmin 7607. I had to go through a Lake Tahoe boat inspection to put it on the lake. One of the inspections was running hot water through the engine - I had to run the engine obviously to do this. I was trying to find the gauge ...

Re: Summerizing a 2020 R5 Surf
I do have one more question. If the raw water side has been drained for the winter, what is the process to put water back into it prior to starting the engine to avoid the dry impeller? There must be a process given draining the raw water part of the cooling system is common practice to winterize ...

Re: Summerizing a 2020 R5 Surf
Thank you for your prompt responses. This does clear things up. A couple of more questions to help educate me on how the cooling works. What parts does the closed cooling side cool and what does the raw water cool? Where does the raw water get sucked into on the boat. Sounds like as long as the raw ...

Summerizing a 2020 R5 Surf
I am a new Cobalt owner and looking to get my boat ready for the summer. I have the 6.2 380HP on a R5 Surf. My question is how do you get it ready for the season - specifically refilling the internal cooling system. The directions are very clear about the easy release of the cooling system during ...

Re: Registering a 2020 R5 in California
After three trips to the DMV and about 6 hours invested, I successfully registered my boat. I spoke to Cobalt three times to get their perspective. Unfortunately, they are unable to send new hang tags. They also suggested the statement of facts but the DMV turned that down. After going through all ...

Re: Registering a 2020 R5 in California
My challenge is the boat is already stored for the winter. The DMV did not make it sound like bring the boat to the DMV was required but they really were not very helpful on what was necessary. I am hoping someone has gone through this before in CA that can direct me on what is required.

Registering a 2020 R5 in California
I recently purchased a 2020 R5 Surf out of state and have a question about registering the boat and getting the title in California. California naturally was more than happy to take my sales tax but they will not give me the registration or more importantly the title to the boat until I have the CA ...
