Transom shower/washdown cover
The plyable shower/washdown cover on my 240 lasted almost 20 years and finally broke on the stem. Anyone replace one on any Cobalt in this sub-forum category? Seeing a lot of rigid hinged lid versions online. I kinda like the softer (plyable) version due to the location in the step down area so it ...

Best batteries in 2025?
Time to replace both (2018) batteries in my 240. Going to get AGM type. One starter and one deep cycle. What brand/model is considered best for reliability and warranty? Please don't tell me "I installed a XYZ battery and it seems to work fine." Let me know what your research led you to buy. Seems ...

rearview camera
Has anyone mounted a Garmin (or other brand) camera on the underside of the tower, connected to a GPS so you can view your skiers, wakeboarders etc, behind the boat in lieu of a rearview mirror? I just installed a GPSMAP® 943xsv and thinking of adding a Garmin GC™ 200 Marine IP Camera. If you have a ...

New Garmin GPSMAP 943XSV installed on my 240
I will provide a video and photos of the install once I get it all wrapped up and pretty....I just installed a Garmin GPSMAP 943XSV on my 2007 Cobalt 240. I already had a VP Easy Connect (includes NMEA 2000 output) which I connected to the GPS. It provides a bunch of engine data but does not appear ...

Re: Matworks duraweave ‘05 272.
I really like the idea of the ability to remove the decking for various reasons. This seems like it would work well for someone taking their boat ouI of the water after use and storing in a dry environment. That said, have high suspicion that if the Matworks deck (and under the decking) was wet when ...

Re: Lower Unit Shakes When Turning
My experience is that in a moderate to high speed turn with the outdrive trimmed up to cruising speed level, you can experience some cavitation. However, this does not indicate a problem with the mechanics of the boat.

Re: 263 Boat Fire !!
Glad everyone is OK.
I would think the trailer would be in the 5-7K range, or half the cost of a new one.
I've been looking for a year and almost every Cobalt trailer I've found that has been sold us under $5K in very good to excellent condition. Biggest problem selling them is the color and ...

Before and after "some" bilge cleaning with the old BP. After I cut power to the BP, I'm gonna put some legit bilge cleaning solution in the bilge, add water, and drive around the lake a bit to slosh and hopefully displace some gunk. Post slosh I'll pull ...

Re: Bilge pump blues
I can always count on titaniumboy - thanks for the feedback. After reading more online reviews and watching a couple YouTube videos, I've determined that, in my opinion, a bilge pump that is not submersible, is a problem waiting to happen. Ordered a Rule LP900S "LoPro" BP. Will post before and after ...

Bilge pump blues
Bilge pump (Sahara Mk2) is a year old and was installed by the service center at the marina where I bought the boat. My understanding is that the BP has a hot electrical connection even with the batteries turned off and the BP should run when the float rises due to water in the bilge. True?

Re: beep chart
Is my question out in left field? I assume if there are beeps pre-start there must be other beep(s) sequence(s) for other reasons. Anybody have a resource identifying what different beeps mean?
