Re: Garmin Water Temp Issue
LOL, sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, the water temp has always worked, it was the AIR temp that I never had. Just forget I was here!

Re: R7 acting a little weird
But if it is the radio too, I would think it is the battery. You have two batteries, one is for your engine to start and the other runs your Garmin and Radio. When you turn the boat battery on do you turn both on? Try swapping battery one with battery two, I wonder if the boat will have Garmin's but ...

Re: Garmin Water Temp Issue
I have a 2019, and I know they stopped including the water temp on mine, I even had it in their marketing docs that it is supposed to be there and Cobalt replied that they hadn't gotten around to updating the marketing docs yet.

Re: Outside temp gauge on 2017 R5
That is right about the time they stopped adding them. I assume this is on the Garmin touch screen? Last time I looked for them on Garmin there were somewhere around $150. I decided it wasn't worth it.

Re: Windlass
When we bought our Cobalt the sales manager said that any options we don't get they can add on later, with the exception of a Windlass. Too much risk/issues with reinforcing the proper areas. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear I am sure.

Re: use air compressor to blow out any water in surf ballast tanks
Do you need to worry about it? The typical issue with water is that it freezes and expands and breaks lines and such. if there is just a little bit of water left in an empty ballast and it expands will it break something? Or are there water lines that need to be blown out.

Re: Any Slalom Skiers
My kids and I slalom behind our R7, though we always kind of slow down going over the wake. These are definitely NOT designed to be good slalom boats. The wave is nice for getting air on two ski's, we do try to avoid this on one ski though. I am not sure i have ever seen a good slalom boat over ...

Re: Fuel efficiency (MPG)
I am well aware that boats are not fuel efficient. I’ve been boating for over 30 years. I also understand that there are a lot of variables to consider. I’m looking for MPG or GPH comparisons between a similarly equipped inboard wake boat to a cobalt surf. The reason for my question is because I ...

I had no idea you could order these. Did you get them from cobalt? How much were they? Did you install yourself, if so what was the difficulty?

Re: Rear facing WiFi camera add-on
I have been debating putting the Garmin GC100 on my R7 but haven't pulled the trigger. Where and how to mount it for a clean look continues to be a problem for me.....

I would avoid painting the cobalt.
So I have never used one, but have seen these advertised, no idea how they would work but maybe something like this?

Re: Weighting an R7 surf
I have found that I (235lb) can surf behind the R7 fairly well, for me it is more about keeping my balance than the shape of the wave. However I do feel like there is less push when people are sitting in front of the boat.

Re: 2018 R7 Surf - electronic issues??
I have a 2019 R7 surf, had a few issues the first season that were covered under warranty. I haven't had any issues the last couple of seasons. The wave that the R7 surf puts out isn't as good as the R8 surf, other than that I like the design of the R7 better. Based on my experience I wouldn't ...

I leave the amps connected when I pull mine off. Don't worry about the amps.
I have never had an issue like that and I have definitely been in my share of rain. Again just last Sunday.
