Re: Recommended VP two year bellows replacement
My service guy said to run the bellows until it leaks. He thought I was nuts when I suggested replacing it on Volvo’s schedule.

Re: 262 trailer questions
A 26’ hull moved 2” changes the weight distribution 0.6%. I don’t think you’d notice any difference at all. Leaving a cooler full of ice in the bow would make a bigger difference. Worst case, the axles on most trailers can be moved a couple inches to offset the change. If you don’t mind spending ...

Re: Let's see your Tow rigs with your boat!
Yeah...manual says anything over 5000# towed or 500# tongue weight requires a WDH so I will do that. I am only going a short way but prefer to go with the specs.
Just be aware that some trailer manufacturers specifically say to NOT use weight distributing hitches. My trailer (Venture) would ...

Re: Electric Flush Head Conversion
The effort to install a black-water tank would be significant. Very. If you are serious about wanting the upgraded head, I think finding a boat that is already equipped that way would be much wiser.

Re: Adding rudder position indicator.
I finished mounting the sensor today, and everything is working great!
The R7 has plenty of room for mounting. The bilge vent, and a couple of drain lines needed to be pulled to the side, but all it took was cutting one zip tie and adding a couple others.
I didn’t use a ball stud on the tiller ...

Re: Adding rudder position indicator.
Often, you can get these connectors with pigtails so you don't have to buy separate pins and use a crimper.

Yup. I opted for “get it by tomorrow” and I already have crimpers. 😜 I do like to avoid splices where I can ...

I just started a DIY rudder indicator project, and though some others might find my learnings useful.

Beautiful 25SC, Santanig5. We were looking hard for one just like that, but an R7 fell in our lap, and we couldn’t say no.

Re: Extended warranty 2018 R7 Surf
If you were buying a Sea Ray, I’d be more inclined to say yes, get a Brunswick warranty.
I think of it this way; does the warranty company have anything to gain by making you happy? (Like customer loyalty?) Or is it in their best interest to take your money and do whatever they can to keep it ...

Thanks. I don’t imagine there’s any reason it wouldn’t be the same for the R7.

Windlass chain length
When Cobalt outfits a boat (R7, in our case) with the all chain windlass, how long is the chain they include? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere, and I’d rather not measure it myself.
