Re: favorite brand of deep cycle battery

I've been researching batteries since this spring and planned to buy new batteries for this summer. I have a dual battery set-up. My house (deep cycle) battery is toast, but I was able to squeeze another summer out of the starter battery. So I will wait until next spring to replace. My batteries are ...

Re: Gelcoat

Spectrum Color matches Cobalt gelcoat. I've used them a couple of times to fix scratches on my boat and it's been a perfect match each time.

Amazing you found such a beautiful boat in that condition in this market! My favorite color scheme--timeless. Congratulations.

Check the fuse/breaker box. Also, seems like a lot of work done on the engine for being 6 years old. Any reason why--high hours?

Re: garmin question for newbie

If you have an iPad with cellular, then I'd recommend installing Aquamap on your iPad. I use it on Norris Lake and it works perfectly--and it sure beats using a hard-copy map and trying to find those darned mile markers. There are other navigation apps as for the iPad, including Navionics, but most ...

Yes, I still have it. However, we have different boats so it probably won't work. Also, the color is more brown than sand color.

SureCall Fusion4 Home Cell Signal Booster

Before listing on eBay, I thought I would see if anyone here might be interested. This is a cell signal booster that I used at my lake property which has poor cellular service. It worked great to boost the signal when a signal was present and delivered LTE speeds. I'm selling because i finally got ...

Navy blue hull side, red stripe. It's a timeless combination that you will never get tired of. I would skip the grey interior and opt for the saddle color. I think over time grey will look dated. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Tig Tech flag pole installation

Look great! Did you use any sealant, as I didn't see any in the picture. If not, then you should use 3M 5200 adhesive to ensure secure installation and seal the cut fiberglass. Interesting observation on the anchor light; I would have thought Cobalt would have used bolts, nuts, and fender washers.

Thanks for the feedback. We actually weren't using the stereo (and had hardly used it at a low level the day before). It just wouldn't power on when we left for the day. The red reset button didn't seem to be activated... it was the same as all the others in the panel. The stereo worked fine after ...

Re: Problems with Bimini Top

That is a different set-up than mine, and you're right, it appears to be a "cheaper" set-up. I do not like the strap & buckle wrapped around and touching the tower. The chafing and rattling of the buckle will eventually damage the Alwgrip paint on the tower. That paint requires special care to keep ...

Re: Fuel Octane for new Volvo Penta?

I always use non ethanol gas if there’s a choice. The way I see it is the the cost of gas one of the least expenses of a boat. When the boat costs 130K. 30 dollars a day difference in the cost of fuel is money well spent to avoid problems. Besides that non ethanol gas is more efficient so you will ...

Re: Oxidation Removal and Wax

Get yourself a dual action polisher. There are many choices, but I purchased Griot's Garage. Invest in good polishing pads. I use Country Lake. Most internet stores have a polishing kit, with polisher, pads, and compounds/waxes to get you started. Shurhold is a company that specializes in boat ...
