Bum,
You are very fortunate to have a place with a dock. For the rest of us who would love a boat there, finding a spot to store is super expensive.
When we get the itch, we rent at that place on the other side of 41 from Tin City and head down to Marco to the Snook Inn.

Some pictures from this week with my new(to me) Whaler. My sister and nephews are visiting us in Naples for a long weekend and we had two super fun days out on the boat: one down to Marco Island on Friday and a run to Sanibel Island today which is 23 miles north of us.

Scout wasn't on my radar until recently, but it's pretty nice compared to the Robalo I have been on before and liked. If you want more of a yacht than a center console quasi-fishing boat, I was on a Tiara in that length range last year that was gorgeous too. Lots of neat options in the mid-30 foot ...

We are back down in FL and have had our 23’ Whaler out a few times in the last week. Here one of our little Boston Whaler parked outside the Capri Fish House near Marco Island. It’s about 14 miles south of us and makes for a great lunch spot, the onion rings are fantastic.

Our 2018 R5 Surf throws a great wave for wake boarding and hydro foiling so the R8 should be even better.

They stopped making them in 7 years ago so it will likely be tough to find one in like new condition. I’ve owned one since 2017 and IMO they are still a higher quality boat than any tri-toon manufactured today. Here’s one in AZ that is worth checking out. I was in a R30SC last month in Naples and it is a beauty. The Gulf was very calm so I can’t comment on how it handles rough water but the few boat waves we encountered it handled with ease. I’m now starting to see more and more Cobalts with outboards down here in FL compared to 5 years ago.

Like @Aslan7, I’m a big fan of 3M. I worked at 3M in the Automotive Aftermarket/Marine division the last 21 years of my career calling on automotive and marine body/repair shops. There are lots of great products out there that I’m also a fan of including 303 and Hot Sauce already mentioned ...

Glad that Volvo is taking care of it. We had our lower unit fail on our 2018 R5 Surf last June. My daughter was driving it at 6mph in 40 feet of water when it just stopped. I didn’t 100% believe her at first but there were zero nicks in the props when we pulled it out at the repair shop on the lake ...

Beautiful! I have many fond summer and winter memories of Lake Tahoe. We lived in NorCal for 20 years and had a lakefront condo in King’s Beach that we sold in 2018 when we left California. The water clarity and surrounding mountains make it one of the best spots in the US.
