Catalytic Thermostat/alarm?
Hey Team, have been enjoying the heck out of our 2014 232 for three weeks but ran into an issue on Wednesday night. We docked at a marina and the only spot they had was loaded with seaweed. We had dinner and when we left the marina I got clear of the no wake zone and ran it up to WOT and within ...

Re: 2015 R3 Volvo V8 300HP reliability?
Yes - a clunk when shifting is normal, the way a cone clutch system works. It does shift much smoother than my Merc/Alpha that had a dog style clutch. The newer VPs that have electronic shifting are totally different, almost unnoticeable when shifting.
Well, I’m sure it will be a tremendous ...

Re: 2015 R3 Volvo V8 300HP reliability?
I would check to be sure - most of the 2014 Cobalts I have seen (my marina is a Cobalt dealer, I see a lot of Cobalts and Malibus) - including my own R5 with the V8-300 have the 5.7 based engine. The Gen 5 5.3/6.2 based engines were introduced late 2014/2015. It's possible there were 2014's or ...

Re: 2015 R3 Volvo V8 300HP reliability?
I got the serial number from the motor, it does appear to be the 5.7L 300hp and I’m totally good with that!

Re: 2015 R3 Volvo V8 300HP reliability?
I am looking at a 2014 232, and it has a “Volvo 300 V8” in it. I am not mistaken thinking that is the horsepower output correct? It’s pretty much been answered here, but I am just making sure I am clear on it before I reach out to the seller.

Re: Some insight please
I am looking hard at a couple 232’s a 2011 and a 2014. Was the arch an option over the wakeboard tower on those boats? I assume it was an upgrade. The 2011 has a 5.7 L mag and about 180 hours, lots of information on that drive online.
The 2014 has the arch instead of tower, and 300 V8 Volvo, I’m ...

Re: Pontoon for lifelong powerboater?
We always had open bow/power boats then decided to get a 22' tri toon with a 225 hp Yamaha Outboard a couple years ago....we rented first and I convinced myself that I loved it....after two years it had to go. Just wasn't right for us, I didn't like how it drove and for evening cruises there was ...

Re: Some insight please
Just spotted another low 145 hour 2011 232 in blue, has a 5.7L Mag. My understanding that the 5.7L Mag and 6.2L are very similar but the 6.2L is basically a stroker 5.7L. The reading I have done tells me the out put is very similar with some more torque from the 6.2, so with a 5.7L the 232 shouldn't ...

Re: Some insight please
There is a 2008 222 in a beautiful blue, same motor but 462 hours on it, which averages out to about 30 hours a year. It doesn’t have the factory premium stereo which maybe isn’t a big deal as stereos are easy to upgrade and at that age would likely need it anyway. The carpet is ok but showing signs ...

Hello!
Been boating all of of my adult life, started out in an old clunker of a Bay Liner when the wife and I first got married, moved into an '05 Four Winns about 4 years later which was a big upgrade, but learned quickly that I should have weighed my wants/needs more closely as it was missing ...
