I cant tell you on that model as I have a 2004 226 with the 5.7. With 3/4 of a tank(50gallon) and 5 adults at 200lbs average more or less and the boat handles beautifully and surprisingly accelerates well too. Enjoying reading this thread. Looked online at a few newer Cobalts…100-250k is a lot of money for a 25’ or so boat(not knocking those that own those ) . They are pretty!

I don’t have any personal experiences with the newer models as ours is a 2004 226( new to us) but compared to even new non Cobalt boats that we see on the lakes, ours isn’t lacking in quality, amenities or looks imo.

That sounds great and will do when we head up there. I really appreciate that offer We are not a big fan of Lake Houston as it has MANY shallow spots and trees that were never cut down. But it’s 5 minutes from our home

Well I never replied to this post. We bought the 226 and absolutely LOVE it!!

We spent some money addressing some things and a thorough cleaning and paid to have the hull detailed (I started putting some effort into it, and I need a bigger buffer, more aggressive stuff blah blah blah)

Anyway ...
