Well, I feel dumb. After an hour of checking voltage, connections, fuses, and switches, it turns out I neglected to connect a ground wire to the battery when I put the batteries back in this spring :roll:

Apparently the windlass has its own ground wire, and it had gotten shoved behind the battery ...

If you're looking for a new OEM cover, malibuparts.com has them. Picked one up for my 2015 R5 last fall - very high quality and perfect fit. About a 6 week lead time, IIRC. Here is the link for your year:

Looking for a trailer for an R5 (non-surf) with windlass. Will consider a non-windlass trailer as well, would just need to swap out the winch post. Closer to SE Michigan the better.
