Hi
I have a Cobalt 255 and I’d like to replace the docking lights with stronger ones. Does anyone know what type of bulb the original units use, and if there’s a plug-and-play LED upgrade that fits the existing housings? Any tips or experiences are greatly appreciated.
grtz

Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi – Fluctuating oil pressure readings
Hi everyone,
I have a question about the oil pressure on my Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi. I’ve noticed that the needle sometimes fluctuates quite a bit.
On a cold start, it’s stable at around 40 psi at idle. After about an hour of cruising, idle oil pressure drops to about 10–20 psi and fluctuates ...

How to Pressure Test Water Jacket on Installed Volvo Penta 5.7GXi (Raw Water Cooled)?
Hi all,
I recently discovered a very small crack in one of the exhaust manifolds on my boat with a Volvo Penta 5.7GXi engine. I’m planning to replace both the manifolds and elbows, but I’d also like to pressure test the block to be safe.
Since this is an open cooling system, what is the correct ...

Cobalt logo in vector format (.dwg preferred)
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a custom design for SeaDek type decking and I'm looking for vector versions of the Cobalt logos. Ideally, I’d love to get them in .dwg format for use in AutoCAD, but other vector formats could also work.
If anyone has these files and is willing to share, I’d really ...

Re: Reupholstering Cobalt 255 – Color Combination Advice?
Thanks for the feedback! The dark blue colors are really just meant as accents, so hopefully the heat won’t be too much of an issue. I’ve ordered some samples of both upholstery and seadeck materials to get a better idea of how everything will look.

Hi everyone,
I’m excited to officially introduce myself here. I’ve already posted a few questions but wanted to take a moment to properly say hello.

Fender Placement & Mooring Techniques – What Works Best Long-Term?
Hi all,
A general question that many boat owners may have faced:
What’s the most effective way to use fenders and mooring techniques for long-term berthing in a marina—especially one located along a canal or in areas with occasional small waves?
Most boats seem to use the classic approach: fenders ...

Reupholstering Cobalt 255 – Color Combination Advice?
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Cobalt 255 and I'm very happy with the boat overall. However, the upholstery on the seats and other areas is in pretty bad shape. I'm currently considering having everything reupholstered.
I plan to keep the white sections as they are, but I'm debating whether ...

Re: Volvo Penta 5.7 Gxi - Salt water
Just a quick update – I’ve reached out to Orca Marine via email to ask about the availability of a closed cooling conversion kit for the 5.7 GXi and to get their advice on the feasibility for an older engine.
Thanks again to everyone for the helpful input! I’ll share any useful info I receive from ...

Re: Volvo Penta 5.7 Gxi - Salt water
Thanks for the helpful info, this also aligns with my own preference. I’m seriously considering converting to a half-closed cooling system.
I’m currently looking for a good quality conversion kit. Does anyone have experience with a reliable kit (ideally one specific to this engine), or can ...

Re: Cobalt 253 vs 255 overnighter - Europe
03K possibly means 2003, with 'K' being the 11th letter of the alphabet, so November? I'm curious about this too, really interesting info!
