Re: Cleaning products

Armor All Original Protectant traditionally features a high concentration (roughly 20% to 30%) of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) silicone oil, designed to create an immediate, high-gloss shine and yes, cracked out millions of dashes in the process. Armor All transitioned away from old-school petroleum ...

If you absolutely have to go ceramic and you've never done it before :

They sent me a bottle and I tested it against some other products. Lasted a little bit shy of 3 years but it's cheap and easy enough that if you hate it, a medium compound will remove it. This is an Si02 variety. The Ti02 would be considered the best ...

Re: Which Ceramic or graphene - personal experiences?

Graphene when made one molecule thick is one of the most impressive materials man has ever created. It started an entire field of molecular physics where we've taken gold rhodium the various other metals and made them one molecule thick and found that they can do some extraordinary things and have ...

Re: Staining on swim platform

Hi,
Lots of things to try but let's start with the easiest. You've cleaned the cause of the stains, let the swimstep sit in the Sun for a few days before trying some of the more drastic approaches. The Sun can bleach out pollen stains, boat yard blues and sap stains in time.
A safe addition to the ...

Detailer Q/A: Mostly Gelcoat (some marine paints)

Hi,

I'm Lee and have been detailing for about 30 years. I started in Seattle on big boats but in the later part of my career I'm finding smaller boats to finesse back to life is more fun and more rewarding than shining a 100'-200' monster.

I helped (drew up the plans and ideas and submitted them ...

I'm not sure I can handle Facebook. I accidentally was talked into Instagram and I hate everything about it. I'll stick to this for now but, it's the way of things. My old BMW forums are ghost towns now too. Everyone wants a flashier way to get info now. Here I am with hour plus vids saying "I don't ...

Re: Another badly oxidized green Cobalt

The first time you post as a new user, it will shut you down if you make a bunch of posts (more than two or three, I think) before you've been approved, which usually takes a day. Just wanted you to know it's not intentional but is an automatic anti-spam tool measure we had to turn on due to all ...

Just a little more insight into the difference between wet sand and buffing 😉 This boat could have used some sanding, I concede that. Was it necessary? No, obviously. Will it last as long? No way to know but my guess is that it still looks green and ...
