I will not lie. I have not hit 75mph. I refuse to beat on the boat and hold it at full boost that long. Let alone it seems like I always have people in the boat and a full tank of fuel I have hit 72 gps tho very easily. The boat beats my 2017 seadoo gtr 230 in every way outside of out of the hole. From 30mph to 70mph the jetski will lose. This is the only boat ive ever been in that will plant you in the seat from 30-60 mph. Its actually hilarious. 625 foot pounds of torque with a bravo 3 equals instant throttle response. The pitch of the props is 28.Bfun220 wrote: Sat Nov 04, 2017 2:47 pm Whippled,
You'll have to get that thing on the water and let us know if it can hit the claimed 75mph.![]()

Re: Finally found some time to say HI!
Thanks Aslan. Things are very very tough right now for my wife and I. We've had some life threatening complications with our daughter. Keep us in your prayers. I don't "have" to sell the boat but I might consider it. I don't have any pictures of the props right now. I am in Philadelphia at the children's hospital with my wife. When I get home ill swing by the storage facility and take some pics. There are 28 pitch props on the boat nowAsLan7 wrote: Sat Nov 04, 2017 3:25 pm .
Yeeee hawww. Great introduction post, whippled!
It is also terrific to have someone with your background and experience on the site. Again welcome aboard /
Trust all is well with the family? Been prayin' for ya buddy.
Do you still have to sell your 263? Hopefully your family circumstances have gotten better.
By the way, What pitch props are you running on that bravo 3 X drive? Would you post a picture ?

More pics. The first and second pics should look familiar Aslan. The last one is of the boat in her hoist on Keuka Lake. Notice the L.E.D lighting. Awesome upgrade and cheap.

Re: Finally found some time to say HI!
Ahhhh yes, whippled. Been to boater's beach many times throughout the years. Hope to see you there next summer.
We will keep your family and your daughter in our prayers.
How many pounds of boost are you running? 75mph is rocking. Our Fountain ran 80 WOT and had impressive hole shot due to ballast tanks. Loved racing from a stand still. Jet skis always paralleled us while underway. It was fun inching the throttle forward and as they kept up...inching it a little more...then full throttle w/ CC wide open. Cya.
Your LED lighting looks great. We just upgraded ours as well last month.
Looking forward to hearing her next summer --in addition to a ride or two.
If you have any other pics...plz post. very unique boat.

Re: Finally found some time to say HI!
5-6 pounds of boost. That's all you want to run in the 496 h.o. People run into problems when they start changing the pulley and raise the boost. This set up is 100% reliable. The intercooler keeps the engine running at 155 degrees on the hottest day. The full Aeromotive fuel system keeps the fire lit correctly. There's more to it than just slapping a supercharger on a boat. Sure you can do that but your powerplant wont last long. Whipple has the setup 100% RELIABLE IF YOU DO WHAT THEY SAY. I would recommend this set up to anyone that wants 15 extra mph and a intoxicating sound that comes from under the hatch. Its sooooo fun

Totally agree with ya on the boost. How cool would it be to run that 263 in Cobalt-mecca, Lake Tahoe that's 6,232 feet above sea level. She's a beast that's for sure.
Post pics of that x drive B3 with transom shot, when you get a chance to take the pic, W. Maybe a helm shot too. Did they add a boost gauge?

Welcome Chris... From Pittsford, NY! Spent some time on Keuka 2 summers ago. Awesome lake. Whereabouts are you located?Whippled263 wrote: Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:40 am Hi guys and gals. Lurker here for some time. Aslan reached out to me a couple weeks ago and turned me on to the site. First off this site is great and I'm excited to be part of it. Thanks Aslan. Now on to the reason we are all here! Our beloved Cobalt boat! My boating experience goes back to when I was a kid. My father always had a boat. Everything from a 19 foot Glastron/Carlson to a 32 foot 1972 wooden Trojan. I grew up in Rochester Ny boating on Lake Ontario. Fast forward to adulthood. We have a lake home on gorgeous Keuka Lake. I've owned a 1989 18 foot Larson, 1992 Century 4500, 2003 Baja 232, 2005 Powerquest 260 and now my 2005 Cobalt 263. I will admit when I sold my Powerquest I was looking to buy a Nordic Heat MCOB 28 foot or Sunsation MCOB. Cobalt was not on my radar screen. Don't get me wrong I have always admired Cobalt boats for there lines, fit and finish. I knew they were very well built boats and usually powered with a adequate power plant. I also knew they were NOT cheap $$. Gods honest truth I stumbled upon my 263. Call it divine intervention. The moment I laid eyes on this boat I knew it was the one! The owner was the type of guy you want to buy a boat from. After some long phone conversations and many pictures I decided to make the 5 hour drive to view and sea trial the boat. Boy was I glad I did. The boat blew me away. It is a 2 owner fresh water boat with just 290 hours. It has a merc 496 H.O with a dealer installed Whipple supercharger and a Bravo 3 X drive with custom S.S props. Estimated horsepower is around 625. Boost is at 5-6 pounds. The boat runs like a champ. The supercharger is intoxicating. The handling of this boats hull is like no other. Its on rails! The trailer that came with the boat is just the same. Amazing! Its a fortress. Aslan took a picture of it this summer when my wife and I were on a boat trip to Lake Erie. Its a custom built trailer by Dorsey. The boat fits on it like a glove. It really is the complete package. If anyone has any questions about the boat or the supercharger please ask.
Chris
Sidenote - my mashed prop, Keuka is the scene of the crime. Chris are you familiar with the launch by the Switz?

Re: Finally found some time to say HI!
There is no boost gauge but I will be adding one this summer. They really serve no purpose outside of being super cool. The b3 x drive looks just like a normal b3. It just has beefed up internals. The transom does looks sweet with the above water exhaust, ss props, drive shower, and inter cooler pee hole. That’s a tell tale sign it’s superchargedAsLan7 wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2017 7:48 am .

Pittsford holler! I grew up in Greece. Keuka Lake is amazing and my favorite place on earth! We are located 2 miles north of the Switz. I am very very familiar with the launch. We call that the power station launch. I too took a prop out there launching my Powerquest there 3 years ago. The problem there is the water run off from the launch and the creek creates a underwater “island” of rocks about 20 feet or so out. Trim up at all times launching there!liquid wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2017 12:40 pmWelcome Chris... From Pittsford, NY! Spent some time on Keuka 2 summers ago. Awesome lake. Re: Finally found some time to say HI!
Also that is a “locals” launch. You prolly used it because your rental property was near by and they told you too. In the future use the state provided launches. You will never have a problem. That lake is SO deep right off shore that prop hitting is really never a issue any where on the lake. If your ever back to Keuka let me know. I’d love to meet you and do some cobalt showing off together.
