Factory VP blades just don't "fall" out of balance after a few seasons. I've had some pretty damaged factory props that still didn't vibrate. I mean visually from 30 feet damaged. Could you see a chunk missing or bent blade?

Looked brand new, however, Where I dock is quite shallow. I know the exact moment it started. Potentially I did hit bottom coming in “hot” with an abrupt trigger release of the throttle off plane.

Ya know, going for the hydro lock too.

Hopefully you can find a defiant cause to your issue before you put it to bed for winter.

One other thing you can is is your prop drive shaft - remove blades, throw a dial indicator on them and check runout for a bent one.

Supposedly Gordys checked that on the first round. Found no out of balance in the shaft whatsoever. I will keep all your ideas in mind for next time. Boat is gone for the season.

Of the vibration is gone all is good. It was just enough to move a blade. Or What ever. Glad it's gone.

That vibration isn't normal and I wouldn't operate the boat with it. I hit a bit of sand with my prop in year 1 and noticed a slight but certainly noticeable vibration. I thought it was an engine problem too. One way to isolate the problem might be to note the engine rpm and boat speed at max vibration while underway and then stop and put the boat into neutral and add throttle to put the engine at the same rpm. Does the vibration return? If it does, the engine has a problem. If it doesn't the problem is likely in the driveline somewhere unless there is an engine mount failure that only shows the problem under load.

In my case I could feel the vibration through the steering wheel and it was a baby finger nail sized tiny dent in one prop blade. Once that was fixed the boat was vibration free. But, I will say that I hit the bottom of the lake this summer and chewed the edges of 5 prop blades and teh steering wheel wasn't shaking anywhere near as much as yours is. Something is seriously out of whack. If the driveline checks out, change the props and test it, but again, putting the boat in neutral and revving should eliminate that as a cause.

Let us know how it works out?

Turned out to be props based on the last ride. Was a short twenty minutes but couldn’t feel anymore vibration. This was vibrating at all speeds and all rpm’s.

Thanks, I somehow skipped the second page of this thread.

Does the engine have a harmonic balancer? I had a mustang and had vibration problems and while visually the harmonic balancer looked good, it had slipped and was out of whack causing the vibration and since they are "tuned" to the engine, they will cause intermittent issues depending on RPM. Just a thought.

I had a small nick in one blade the first year of ownership - kicked up some sand with the prop coming back into the marina. Vibration was evident after that. At first I thought it was the engine running rough, but running the engine up in N didn't show any vibration, so it had to be drive train. I had the prop repaired at the end of the season and at the start of season 2 it was perfect.

Then in season 3 (summer 2021) I hit the bottom of the lake and chewed up several blades and bent a prop shaft (slightly). I ordered new props but VP had no idea when I'd get them so I had the props fixed and 80% of the vibration went away. The new props showed up at the end of the season. The shaft and seals will be replaced this coming spring.

Anyway, stuff happens and learned that the tiniest prop nick can cause vibration. Best to stay away from the bottom. :)

Thanks for sharing. Good stuff to know. I anticipate it will happen again if lake level is low. I park in a sandy shallow area. Not by choice. DNR kept lake level pretty low last year.

I recommend that you also check the fuel filter. I had a similar chugging / vibration issue a few years ago and they ultimately decided that the fuel filter needed to be replaced. Hope you find a solution fast.
