Lighting questions

Post by Lifelongbtr »

19' R7 - I've noticed the buttons on the dash, mostly for lighting are not backlit in any way so you can read what the button are in the dark, is that normal or am I missing something somewhere? My last boat had a dimmer, the gauge lights and all buttons were always on unless you dial the dimmer all the way down.

Factory underwater lights, all the interior and speaker led's change with the dial under the dash, except the underwater lights, is this a setting or is there another way to adjust the underwater light color?

thanks

It depends on which underwater lights you have. What brand are they ?

I would need to look at the lights I guess, not sure there is another way to know. Build sheet just says r/g/b like the interior lights do. I’ll look when it’s out of the water.

The dash buttons should light up and they have a issue with them. Plenty of good threads on here about them.

Cobalt typically uses Shadow Caster, depending on the year of your boat you can plug them directly into the Garmin system in the dash.

So the underwater lights change color, patterns, by pressing the button dash on/off, like some pool lights, you may have to power on/off 4-5 times to get what you want. FYI

Anyone know what the LED storage lighting option on the R6 gets you. Lights in all the storage compartments, or just some of them?
Does the head have a light in it? They leave out a lot of details in the brochure and the walk through videos.

Can’t answer your question evmolinar but someone here with that model should be able to chime in shortly.

And welcome aboard mate!

This is a great question and waiting for I'm waiting for others to chime in.

<EDIT>
Here's a reply from my sales rep:
Pretty much all of the compartments. For sure the engine compartment, port side storage in front of motor box, big locker on the starboard side bow. Pretty sure the ski locker does as well and the other smaller compartments that wrap around the bow. I don't think the cooler compartment does. From what I remember these lights come on with the cockpit/courtesy lights.

Yes, my R6 head compartment has a light. LED lighting in the bulkhead.
