How to winterize 1992 255, 454, bravo 1

Looking for any and all tips, tricks, procedures to winterize my 92 cobalt 255 condurre. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to flush motor, change oil and filter, change fuel water separator, change outdrive oil. Any other things I should address?

If your flush motor process is running the engine and putting a bio safe antifreeze through it then do it last and add these

Make sure a fuel stabilizer is already added in the fuel tank before running.

I would end the running cycle with a engine fog through the carb air horn. Remove air cleaner.

Using ( Marvel mystery oil 4-5 oz)

Then slowly pouring in the carb opening ( both sides as two plane manifolds split the banks of cylinders ).at idle until you see smoke from the exhaust .
Takes only 10-20 seconds then quickly shut it off and be done.

This will add protection to your cylinder walls from slight scale rusting , and give ring life when it’s time to go.
Plus add some oil moisture to the exhaust manifolds.

I'm not familiar with your engine and cmattj suggestion is most likely great for the fuel system/cylinders, but it means nothing until you learn how to winterize that block properly. It may mean pulling hoses. You don't want to find a cracked block in the the spring - seek a mechanic who know how to winterize your cooling system. Most likely the outdrive just needs a oil change. Anyways my two cents. Good Luck

Sounds good. Is the mystery oil better then the spray fogger?

On my Sea Ray with 350 mag, I'd run and get hot, remove drain plugs on block and manifolds and let the water drain, unhook hoses from thermostat housing and dump marine antifreeze down them until it comes out all holes and then reinstall plugs and add more antifreeze to fill the motor. Change oil and filter. Change fuel/water separator filter. Change oil in drive. And of course dog the motor as well.

My cobalt 454 mag has a coolant tank and reservoir, so I wasn't sure if I should just run coolant through the tank to go through the motor or if I need to do something different.

I've also heard of people just running the motor until it's hot and then running antifreeze through the muffs until it comes out the exhaust.

Marvel Mystery oil is a great engine assembly use oil as well as coating cylinder walls for storage. Assembled engine or not.

Figured that year was carbed so it’s easy.
Front tbody would be better to use spray obviously.
What ever makes you more comfortable.

Your cooling system method seems good. The antifreeze gravity fill at the end of the heat cycle is a common one as you have it outdrive forward.
