Maybe 0-60mph in 4 seconds and 12.7 seconds for the 1/4 mile at 97mph. It feels faster than that with the Ski Doo weighing 1/10th the amount of my Tesla at the same rate of acceleration. Fun does not describe it! It’s a different sensation than driving a jet ski at 75mph and feels much calmer and safer than a motorcycle at 100mph. :D

Thanks buddy. That sand is some of the softest and whitest I've ever experienced. It's so similar to powdered snow--but warm  . It even has that crunch sound when you walk on it. I wonder how you or dustinm's snow mobile would do whipping around on that...at 128 mph. ;)

...and yes, it was nice to get away from the kids to "rekindle" the relationship. :D

A few more from SRQ and one close to my heart showing where the world's first airline was launched using an "airboat" called the Benoist flying from St. Pete to Tampa. A-group priority boarding for a single pax :P ..

Love the Siesta Key pics! My wife and I are enjoying our Naples condo without any kids or guests which is a special treat. We are getting in a lot of beach time and dining out at least once a day at some of favorite spots. Last night it was a place called The French and they had oysters for happy hour so we had a dozen along with some tasty cocktails and beer. :D

Nice MnLb! We are foodies too. Italian night, French night, Greek night, Turkish night, and of course good ole American Surf n Turf last night. Unfortunately I’ve already gained five pounds.

Was a few miles up the road in Alabama but I saw some of this snow you guys talk about. Thankfully nothing stuck. Can’t say I don’t miss a good snow day, attempting to rocket down a hill like Clark Griswald with non-caloric silicon based kitchen lubricant on his disc!

It’s touching 34-35 a few nights over the next few weeks so got the bilge heater in.

Great Florida pics!

Nice Pics!

If you didn't this trip, stop into Anna's Deli on Siesta Key for a sandwich to enjoy out on that talcum powder sand the next time down. My folks retired just south of there in Nokomis about 20 years ago. I head down once or twice a year. A local turned me onto Anna's. It's in the little Post Office plaza next to the Crescent Club bar. Been around for 50 years and make simple, but fantastic sandwiches. Little tradition of my wife and I for a date lunch whenever we go.

And if you find anyone renting Cobalts down there, let me know. All I could find was a crappy deck boat, but it worked fine for the Intercoastal.

Heading back down late April for a few days for a shot of warmth. Marina opens for the season the weekend after our return.

Not a picture, but here's a link to what I've been up to.

At 46 years old this winter, I've decided I want to get into ski racing. I've been a ski nut since the first day I tried it at 8 years old. It's been easily my biggest lifelong passion and the thing I've devoted the most recreational time to. Spending time on my Cobalt now a very close second. ;)

I've never been into racing though. As a little boy I watched the Glen Plakes of the world skiing moguls, chutes, jumping cliffs and stuff like that. Racing looked boring and repetitive to me. The stuff Glen was doing looked far more thrilling. EXTREME SKIING! is what they called it in the 80s and early 90s. I did oblige my high school race team coaches and at least try it a few times at the start of each season, but wasn't into it.

Fast forward decades and a buddy has been trying to get me to join his team in an adult race league for the past 7 years. I've been busy with a career change at 39 I've been playing catch up on plus started a family. We now have a 6 year old son, who I started skiing at 3 and now have a 3 year old daughter who I'm teaching to ski too starting this year. Haven't really been doing any Extreme Skiing these days. Haha. Going on year 4 of skiing with toddlers between my legs and eventually beginner green trails. I do get a few solo days for my own fun each winter, but jumping cliffs and stuff is now WAY off this 46 year olds radar. 😂

So I said yes to join my buddy's race team this year to challenge myself to get as good as I can at something new. It's every Wednesday night at a local ski area. 17 teams of 7 racers per team. Age range from early 20s to late 60s both men and women. You score based upon handicap which factors in your age, gender and skiing discipline. Snowboards or Telemark skiers as an example are slower, so you get a bit of a point boost if you race on a snowboard or Telemark skis.

I love it. Kicking myself for not joining this team six years ago. I suck at it so far, but I'm determined to push myself to my limits of improvement with whatever time I can devote to it. Actually hired a coach for an hour this Sunday to get a few videos and get some pointers as to why I'm so slow. 😆

So here's a clip of that

Looking forward to busier in season activity in the forum, but still enjoy seeing what everyone is up to this winter.
