2006 220 Stiff steering troubleshooting path

Looking for a robust path of troubleshooting to solve stiff steering.

Robust? Boating?
Other then checking fluids, lubrication and Isolation (disconnect the outdrive) is the only method I know. How to fix is another method

Hey Dp...so glad you found us!

What year? Is it stiff with engine off as well as on or just one or the other. That engine has a power steering pump. Have you checked the fluid level?

I'm feeling the same thing on my 2008 222. Need to check the fluid and a more comprehensive look for leaks. I found this video online about the Penta steering actuator, which if it is the steering actuator, looks like a pretty helpful video...
