Fusion Stereo on Garmin Plotter Screen R4, R6, R8?

Post by BRDad »

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anybody with an R4, R6 or R8 are able to see and control their fusion stereo on their Garmin screen when you press "media?"

I've seen one person with an R8 Surf that work but wondering for others?

My new R4 is giving me the screen below when I press the media button.

I believe you should be able to see it especially if you have the media button. I can put it on either screen in my R8. Further, I just upgraded the Fusion 670 to the 770 so I can get an extra zone for the tower speakers I added. Used the same NMEA cables and it appears in the Garmins as well. Have you downloaded the Fusion Ap and see if you can control it from you phone? It is a pretty neat feature as well. I think this is something the dealer will need to take a look at.

Thanks so much. Although the boat is mine...it's being stored at the dealer until I can get it in the water over the next couple of months. So I've had limited time to play around with it. To me it is either 1) They didn't hook up the wire properly between the Fusion and the Garmin screens. 2) There is some setting either on the Fusion or on the Garmin that needs to be activated to get them to see each other.

I have asked the dealer to look into it as well as ask Cobalt directly. I'm just trying to confirm that in fact it does work and is supposed to work.

I did try Fusion App and it works great. Super cool. I also bought one of the Fusion remotes on amazon. For 50 bucks seemed like something good to have.
