Just kidding of course. I think our surfing will be limited but since we are in a slip on the water, we will likely just zip over to a cove that's close and swim a lot. Probably less time cruising as well. but sometimes we are going to want to cruise and surf and that's ok too...I think. lol

How common is that with the lakefront property owners on your lake? Ive never really looked on our lake if some of the lakefront property owners have them.

What was the initial investment?

Super common in Minnesota and my next door neighbor has one as well so we have a little gas dock that we share as I placed my tank a couple of yards from his on our lot line. I was a surprised that in my county there is no permit required to have one but I’m sure that is not the case everywhere. Initial cost was $650 for the skid tank and about the same for the 160 foot hose and that included installation from the fuel delivery company.

8 tank fill ups at 300 gal = 2400 gallons.....50 gallon boat tank====44 fill ups in a very short season (May-Sept at best?) That's gotta be a Cobalt Chat consumption record!

I hope to break the record this summer! We have a Marker One pontoon along with the R5 Surf that often run at the same time as my 3 children are very social, sometimes until 2am or later with the boat, lol. Here we are surfing last May 1st so we get at it with wet suits as soon as the ice is out. For the 16 weeks of heavy use it works out to only about 1.3 tanks per week in each boat. 4th of July week I went through a full 300 gallon skid tank in 6 days. In full surf mode the R5 burns about 9-11 gallons per hour. The 350 Verado is more efficient but travels farther as the bars at the north end of the lake are 10 miles away.

Yep, along with Grandview Lodge, Ernie’s, Dock 77, and Madden’s Pub which is only 1/2 mile from us. We’ve been to Ernie’s several times by snowmobile and even snowshoes this winter.

Noooo...no, no, no, noo......... I just moved away from the white stuff and I now realize I was highly allergic to cold weather and snow all those years. Just seeing it again makes me start to break out! I seriously don't know how I handled it all those years. I know those who ride sleds love them, but I can't even imagine going 50 mph in -10 weather! You're a heartier soul than me!

I'm not sure but if they do, they don't enforce it. I didn't ride that much this year but I never saw a sheriff. It's pretty common to see sleds going 50-80 mph out on the lake in front of our house but rarely do I see them going faster than that.

I know some of the big ice fishing lakes like Mille Lacs have posted speed limits all over the place and heavy enforcement on weekends.

Yes, that is why I quit going to MN for sledding. My sled at the time, at 50mph the power valves were just at the point of opening so they would open and close giving the sled a rocking chair feeling - not good after a big lunch.

Now back home on our river the only guys that ran 100mph were the ones on 600s, the rest of us were already at the pitstop. That was always a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Im not all about speed either Ill take 6' of powder any day also and do some carving.
