We used mooring cover all the time until this season. Most of the time, we had two people to handle it. I bought a light weight, silver cover with elastic all around. We have been using it the past month, comes on/off easily with one person, saves time and stores easy, keeps spiders off. Boat needs no extra cleaning. It saves our mooring cover for off season.

K, how does your light weight silver cover work with the tower? Fold the tower down then cover the entire thing?

.
We tuck inside tower, but only at the tower. The goal is to be quick as possible.
I got one that fits length wise and width wise. The elastic all the way around holds it under the swim platform. On the bow, I tie the included straps down through the towing eye, or whatever it's called, to hold front on. I make sure the elastic is under the cleats on each side of helm. That holds the cover enough to it stays close to the tower. On the star side, our dock side, I tie included straps in front of tower to back of tower. It's loose and maybe not necessary, but it does provide extra from really high winds taking the cover off. I paid $145. We did something similar to this on our last boat, replacing it every 3-4 years. First couple of small tears, place duct tape on inside and outside. We remove cover at starboard side swim platform, board boat, remove from port side swim platform, roll it forward from inside center of boat, making sure it doesn't catch on the cleats. Wife doe that, I'm standing in front and put it directly in our dock box that's mounted on front of lift. Probably doesn't weigh 2 pounds. I'm guessing 60-90 seconds.

Lots of good advice… Ty!!
I think I’m even more confused now, lol.
I may just have to do both. I really do have the snaps on the boat though.

We missed a week at lake due to bad weather, but here's some quick pics I took.
One thing this cheap silver color showed me was how much spider poop I must have had that I didn't see on black mooring cover.

I'll have to look it up. I just searched the internet. I didn't see anything for a boat over maybe 24'. Took a while to find this one.

I'm a mooring cover guy. My 276 only takes a few minutes to install the mooring cover and it survives open lake squalls that hit our dock. Snaps cheapen the look of the boat and can get in the way. But this thread proves why Cobalt offers both. Happy Easter all!

No we just wrap it around the tower. It has some clips that I use there to keep it in place on each side at the tower. It fits under the swim platform, and I tie it on front, so it doesn't move too much with summer storms. Works well when we have pollen or spiders.
It's only used in season, we have 30' covered slip, so small gap doesn't make that much difference.
Some other post here I posted pics. I'm hoping it makes my mooring cover last many more years since I'm not handling it an extra maybe 30 time a year.

KRob,

How dry would a cover like yours keep a boat in an uncovered slip? Covered slips and lifts are quite rare in New England. Our marina doesn't have them.

We have snap covers. I'm fine with them other than the time it takes plus the extra cleaning around the snaps.

I think if I were to order a new boat, I'd just go with a mooring cover. Maybe a Tonneau for just the bow. Sometimes in spring and fall we leave just the bow cover on when we boat.

Rain water would get in around the arch. Not a problem for us.

Hey everyone

I have a 2021 CS23 that we picked up early August of last year. On my 120 mile drive from the boat dealer to our lake in MN the snap cover just about came fully off. Ripped a bunch of the snaps and one of the posts blew out. As you can imagine it was a bit scary. The dealer and I had confirmed it was on property so who knows what happened. They’re fixing it this off season so we’ll see how it looks next month when I pick it up. Our boat sits on a lift all summer with a canopy. I cover it when we’re not there.

Would a mooring cover be better for the boat on the lift when we’re not there? Also, I thought you couldn’t trailer with a mooring cover but that appears not true based on some of the comments? Can you also have the posts in to hold up the mooring cover? Thanks m happy to purchase one if it makes more sense.

Thanks for the advice.

I would use a mooring cover on a lift.

If you read the owners manual, it states the tonneau covers are not meant for long term storage (only over night), but they are meant to trailer with... go figure... It also states for long term storage a mooring cover is recommended.
