May 2022 Pics

Beautiful day on Winnipesaukee today. Low 60s and absolute glass

Our dock neighbor picked up a new Chaparral. Have to say, I've got swim platform envy. Thing is absolutely massive.

After almost 2 months after getting the boat from Texas to Oklahoma, I finally have her on a lift. I had to buy a new lift since the market is so tight.

We had March weather all of April here which means the ice is still not out on our lake. Average date is 4/20 for ice out and last year we were wake surfing on May 1st. The dock and lift installers are chomping at the bit so they can get everyone’s dock in by Memorial Day so I sure hope they can get started in a week or so. From the looks of it, we may be ice free in another 5-7 days. We’re only 2-3 weeks away from an average high of 70, so things can change quickly.

It’s a HydroHoist, which is what we’ve always had. Good quality. It’s a 16000 lb lift (bigger than I need) but I saved some money using 2 pontoons instead of 3. If I ever upgrade to a bigger boat, I can add the other pontoon.

I ordered it from a dealer on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. It took about 6 weeks to get it installed. That seemed like forever, but was told that’s quick anymore!

When I was looking at used boats from all over the country, I noticed different styles of lifts all over the place. I guess there are several companies around the country who make them, as shipping costs would be huge to move a lift across country. Most people around us have Ozark lifts, which are made locally in Arkansas. They use tanks that are practically cubed, some of the older ones are metal, newer are plastic, and use two to three tanks.
We bought a used lift because I didn't want my new R3 at the time to sit in the water for 6-8 weeks....and that was before Covid. I'm wondering if there is that much difference in performance of the two styles.
Thanks for replying.

We have been hosting our Gov of Egypt customers for their machine inspection process. Now that it is over time to show them around to different facettes (trolley building and repair, we took this one down the test track) of our company and to my bosses collection of boats and autos.
