R8/R6 Surf - anchor locker

Cobalt Community - Just received my R8 Surf last Thursday and very impressed so far. Would like to know what type of anchors anyone with R8/R6 are currently using that fit in the anchor locker. I have a small box anchor and Fortress FX-11, neither fit so I am putting them in another storage area right now but would really like to use the intended anchor locker.

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!

If the anchor locker on the R8/R6’s are similar to the R5 & R7’s the Fortress FX7 will fit. I think Bruce has that anchor for his R5 and he told me that it fits just fine. I haven’t gotten around to ordering one yet but I was told it will fit. The anchor locker in my R5 is pretty small.. and I don’t even have docking lights.

It fits but its like a puzzle....you have to slide it in a certain way! I have 250' of 1/2" braided anchor line that doesn't really help putting it in either. Most people likely don't carry as much line as I do.

Thanks for the feedback, I really can’t see how the FX-11 will fit in the locker without mods. I was able to get small box anchor to fit in once collapsed.

I’ve seen the digger advertised but never used, they look pretty nice.

That was my experience as well, surprising how shallow the anchor locker is on the new R6/8. I have been using a small box anchor and collapse it each time. Fits, but it's tight and not convenient to break it down. Still searching for other options as well and will share if find something.

I don’t have an R6 but I have a R5 so I don’t know if the anchor lockers even compare but have you tried putting the anchor in upside down or shank first? That’s the only way the FX7 fits in the R5. It’s close but it does fit with about an inch and a half to spare..

Refreshing this post to see what R8/R6 owners are using for anchors that stow in anchor locker. I have played with a couple options, but not satisfied.

Also, anyone have their R8 handy to measure anchor locker opening and overall depth? Appreciate any & all feedback.
