Anyone know the difference between BBP and a sailboat owner?

No sailboat owner ever tried to put the boat in the garage with the mast up...

Too soon?

Yesterday, I had mine up, but stowed in the cover, while trailering. Ripped the front bracket off the windshield, and pulled, twisted the rear bracket in the gel coat/fiberglass. I even had the cover strapped with bungees.
I’ve seen others do it, I towed with it up in the cover once and now have damage.

Obviously, would not even consider up and deployed.

Are there different grades of hardware for a Bimini? Our boat tops out around 53, never once thought about it. I will stow it raised and wrapped in its cover to tow, cover wrapping up the canvas...zippered up tight, I can't imagine what kind of wind speed it would take to damage it.

Before I had my EZ fold bimini installed I towed probably many thousand miles with the bimini up and zipped in the bag with no damage. Now I lower the bimini like Tuscany’s picture and I have not had any problems. I don’t think I would tow very far or fast with the bimini up though.

I towed my 200 to TRL and back with no issues and I wouldn't think twice about it.

Actually, the bimini zipped in the boot, and in the raised position is what Cobalt recommends for towing. I have no issue towing that way, but it just makes more sense to get it out of the wind and the bugs in the low position.

That’s what I’ve always done, either zipped in the bag and left up before the EZ fold system was installed or zipped up in the bag and lowered after the EZ fold was installed. I have never had any trouble either way. Like T said it keeps most of the bugs off when lowered.. we have plenty of bugs up here in Minnesota!
I never really liked towing with the bimini up because it was nearly 11 tall. They have a tendency to find tree branches and garage doors, or was that a tower??
