Tried out our new umbrella holder.

Used mine this last weekend (didn't get a pic). Slide it is a little short. I can stand under the umbrella, but the edges are little low and I have to crouch slightly getting under. In addition, the umbrella is slightly lower (about 8") than the bimini.

I happy with it and not complaining, but you asked me to check on the height and let you know. If it was 8-10" higher a person could go with the 10' or 11' size and overlap with the bimini for really great coverage.

This is on the 2011 242.

Thank you for the input Driller. I'll keep on my efforts to catalog umbrella options and see if I can step up my Google-foo to find some more options. I'd love to be able to offer a longer adapter, but I'm currently at pretty much the limit of my lathe with where they are now.

Hmm.. I bet BB never would have that problem.

Driller did you cut anything off the lower portion of the umbrella pole? On mine I cut 6 or 7 inches off the bottom to make it fit right.

YT keep in mind that the 2011 242 and 2009+ 262 use the R Series style adapters. The receivers for those only allow 1.675" diameter tubes, so the ID is at the 1.375" limit. On yours, the receiver is 2", so I made the larger ID adapters with the stair-step cam and those can handle the 1.5" umbrella tubes.

Can you make an extension which would fit in the adapter which you furnished snap into it and extend another 8". I can measure, but I think you would still have room for the lower part of the umbrella to land inside.

I'll get some measurements of how much swallow there is on the umbrella. I'm not in a hurry at all. The system is fine to use as is, just an enhancement.

Received the Sliderule flagpole adapter for the R5, but having difficulty find a means to secure it when not in use.

Anyone know name/part number of the pair of clamps that hold the ski pylon in the storage locker? What else is done to secure the umbrella adapter (1.625 OD) when not in use? (short of tossing it in the ski locker)

I think it would be a very welcome addition! (suggest adding it as part of the package) On my 2014 R5, there are several mount points in the ski pylon storage locker where it would fit without interfering with retrieval of other items (notably fenders). Barring that, placing on side of ski locker where existing brackets for bimini braces/support are placed. I'm ~45 minutes from my boat or I'd get some pics for you.

What is the outside diameter of the pylon? Looking at getting multi-purposing the pylon as a table mount/drink holder. Just spit-balling, love your product.

That's great if those are the right ones. I made some, but all I could get was 1/2" king starboard and they didn't hold well enough for my tastes.. not to mention that I can't touch that price.
