From Chaparral to 2023 R8 Surf

Excited to show the newest member of the family. We did the dealer orientation yesterday on the water and took her out for the first time. Will need a break-in period but my early impression is “wow!”

Previously we had a 21ft Chaparral bow rider with 150hp Yamaha OB. Was a fine boat for our needs at the time and was a workhorse. You could say we outgrew the Chap as our kids got bigger and boating needs changed over time.

We only drove the new Cobalt for a short period but I was very impressed by the acceleration (430hp), nimble handling with the forward prop, and how smooth it was. Looking forward to getting to know her better!
